5.0 out of 5 stars The best multipurpose activity table out there, October 15, 2009

This is much sturdier than the other tables out there, and looks and works with great quality. My older son is 9 and I had bought one for him when he
was 18 mo or so. He used it for five years every day, and its went to my s-i-l who has a toddler and a 5 yr old and is still rock solid.
The melamine works great for playdoh etc. or you can even flip the mat if you don't want to stain up the melamine. The legs and sides are solid
wood, quality, sanded smooth, never a problem with chips, rough edges etc. The other tables you see at walmart, costco etc are way cheaper in feel
and even the pottery barn one is not as solidly built. Nilo has a stained version at their site which looks better in your family room, with french
legs rather than this blocky look, which I plan to purchase for my twin boys first b'day. We used the block mats which they sell with duplos/legos as well.
If you get the caddy plus bin Storage CaddyNilo-Bin Under Table Toy Holder for Nilo Activity Tables
which slide under, the caddy is heavy and hard to lift up, so while your kids can get to the trains in the caddy by themselves,
they can't easily access toys that are under the caddy -- which is a good thing if you don't want a huge mess while your back is turned. If cost
is not the only issue, this is the table to pick and it has hand me down ability...

5.0 out of 5 stars So glad I got this table over the PBK table!!, November 18, 2010

I have been obsessing over the selection of the perfect activity table for my one year old son. I wanted something that would look like a piece of furniture, be multi-functional, and something that would last. I got all my wishes with this table and my son already loves it. We bought the french legged table in the espresso stain. The height of the table is just at my son's chest so he has a little growing to do before he can reach the middle of the table but for now he uses it to cruise and as a place to play with his cars and blocks. I was trying to decide between the PBK table and the Nilo table. After seeing the quality of the natural table at my local specialty toy store and seeing all of the options for trains, art easle, stools, storage bins I decided this table has so much more to offer. I also don't like the multiple reviews about the PBK tables chipping and denting easily (which I am not surprised as my PBK kitchen table has done the same thing). The finish is great, the graphic mat is excellent quality, and the options make this table the best choice out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Multi-purpose train table, January 18, 2007
By
This is an excellent product. The table is very sturdy. I purchased it for my 2 1/2 year old grandson's trains and he loves it. Usually you find him sitting in the middle of the table with all his trucks, trains and little people around him. On Christmas Day he spent five hours playing with Thomas and Friends at the table.

The table was easy to assemble. The only problem that we had was that there was one missing washer for the leg assembly.

I can't say enough good things about this table, and about the Nilo people. My 1-yr-old son loves it, and it is the perfect height to help him learn to pull up to stand, and cruise around to get to toys on it. He is very rough, always throwing toys down on top of the table, but it is quite sturdy and never chips or dents. He is always pulling on it, too, and it has never once wobbled--a very sturdy construction. We also have the Nilo block chairs, which are fabulous, but for some sad reason were discontinued. When I first received the Nilo table, I opened it to find a crack through one of the melanine sides. I wrote to Nilo on their website to tell them I was displeased with their packaging. No kidding, within 5 MINUTES the phone rang and a Nilo rep was apologizing for the crack. He explained that they have made their packaging more and more complex but are still having problems with damaged products due to UPS problems. He told me to throw the old table top away, and he would send me a new one in the mail and charge UPS for the damage. I got the new one in a week and a half. It was incredible customer service! I will definitely buy from them again.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best train/play table on the market!, January 4, 2011
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars

We have owned this table for 3.5 years now and it has been played on for hours every single day. Our eldest (who is exceptionally tall) is six and he plays on it every day - and our youngest has played on it since the age of 1, when she used it for pulling up and cruising around. It is totally solid and a very nice-looking piece of furniture.

We also have the rolling drawer which goes under it, and two stools which go with it. They are all excellent, and the height and design of the table and chairs are extremely ergonomic - the kids don't have to crouch on the floor to play, but can sit comfortably. An adult can perch comfortably on the stools too. We just love this set and can't say enough nice things about it!

Buy it - you won't regret it.

Also, if you want a change of scene on the table top, Pottery Barn's table mats fit perfectly and you can then use the table for a dollhouse table or whatever you like. Nilo also makes Lego base plates that fit this table and are reversible for Lego and Duplo - we have had tons of use out of those too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Table, January 6, 2009

Santa brought this great table for Christmas and it's been a smash hit for the last couple of weeks. I set up the Melissa & Doug 130 piece set which fits perfectly and stuck the elevated track together with Sure Track and the Nilo Jax product around the edges. It takes a beating from our two boys ages 3 years and 16 months but does not come apart.

If the 3 year old wants to change the layout it's easy to do and he starting to make adjustments all by himself. They will actually play together (of course on opposite sides mostly) without the 3 year old grabbing stuff from his little brother. Amazing.

The quality is great. The holes are cool because with the Jax product the track is extremely stable, but still easy to make changes. The whole thing really encourages creativity and holds their interest with all of different things they can try. Setting up little animals around the tracks is a favorite.

The Nilo Nails which work with Zoob are neat too. My kids are too young to understand how Zoob works at this point, but it's fun to attach some pieces in an arch over the table for the trains to run under or whatever and gives dad something to do besides pushing a train around for the billionth time.

This item is a MUST HAVE for little boys. Way better than trains on the floor because it's easier for them to access things, it stays together better and keeps things neat and tidy versus train track strewn all over floor which happens just about every time I set it up down there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still one of the best train tables on market, December 15, 2011
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

Our 1yo son loved playing with wooden trains on the train tables in the local toy stores, so we purchased a set with tracks, trains, etc. for him to play with at home. While he liked it, we noticed he wasn't nearly as engaged with it on our floor as he was on the train tables in the stores; plus it was also harder for us to play with him on the floor, and we worried that after setting up an elaborate track it might get stepped on, so we decided to shop for a train table. We bought this Nilo N51 multi-activity (train) table from a local independent toy store, after seeing it on display there and elsewhere. It looks even better in person than it does in photos, honestly. Although Nilo now makes arguably even nicer looking tables (for a little more money, too), we thought this was actually one of the nicest ones on the market in 2008-2009, both in appearance and sturdiness, and that's nearly as true today in 2011-2012. Assembly was fairly straightforward as well; Nilo provides brief instructions on their web site, should you want to look in advance. Once assembled, the table was rock solid. My only complaint when our son was 1yo was that the table was a little higher than some others out there, and a bit shorter would've been better at such a young age. He's been using this table for 3 years now, though, and will continue to use it for who knows how long, so perhaps that's not a con in the long run. It's also worth noting that Nilo offers an even longer set of 24" legs for an additional sixty bucks, should you ever want to replace the standard 18.5" legs; that might be good to later allow bigger kids (and adults) to pull up chairs under the table, but we haven't needed 5.5" of additional height yet. We did, however, eventually invest in a couple of Nilo's nice, matching rolling storage bins that fit perfectly under this table; that was a great way to store extra track, toys, etc. in a relatively attractive and efficient way. We also ordered the train caddies that nicely sit on the top of the rolling bins. While I like them for keeping all the extra trains etc. organized, they are too large and heavy for young kids (including my now 4yo son) to comfortably lift out in order to access things below, for better or worse --mostly worse, for us. So the caddies were a mixed bag for us. The table remains the star of our family room, though.

5.0 out of 5 stars We Love This Table!!!, November 28, 2008

We just bought this table and the bins for our 2 year old son. We were looking for a table that could be a train table, art table, and we wanted it to be tall enough for our son to sit at a chair at. I looked everywhere and I am so happy we decided on this one! It was so easy to put together and very well made. I would also recommend their "theseal" if you are looking for a multifunctional table. It's on sale right now if you buy direct through the company's web site. We just can't say enough good things about this product. So glad we stumbled across it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Durable Play Table, June 21, 2011

We love the Nilo play table. My kids use it mostly for Lego Duplo's but also for their train set and wooden blocks. My son often sits in the middle of it to build and the table shows no signs of degradation from it. He weighs 40 lbs. It was a great purchase. I had gotten the Imaginarium table and it would've been broken in pieces if we kept it so I'm very pleased with the Nilo table. We also have the Nilo landscape piece that goes on top and the Lego plate provided by Nilo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice appearance, great customer service from Nilo, December 29, 2010
This review is from: Nilo Multi-Activity Table with FREE Graphic Playmat (Toy)
We received this table as a gift from the grandparents. The table was purchased on Amazon through a third party seller. When we opened the shipping box, the formica/laminate sheet that is adhered to the top of the table had a large crack running through it. I first called the third party seller, but they were closed for the holidays. I then called Nilo (the manufacturer) directly. The call was answered by a live person. Due to a computer issue, the person I spoke with needed to call me back, which he did within 15 minutes with the news that a replacement top was already packaged and waiting to be picked up by UPS. You really can't ask for better customer service. We haven't yet put together the table, but the top rails and legs are nicely finished and seem very solid.
