It is such a shame to see a great band like Green Day being the target of so much negative criticism. 2.0 out of 5 stars whats the deal with these guys
Green Day really puzzles me sometimes. Their early stuff is pretty true to their punk roots, but their newer stuff really dives into the alternative realm. Songs like good ridents really stray unforgivably far from their roots.

It is such a shame to see a great band like Green Day being the target of so much negative criticism. Here is a band who can make great music, are impressive as hell when performing live, and they never seems to put out an album with the sole purpose of being popular or on TV so much. (If that were the case, they would release more albums at a time.) Green Day is one of my all time favorites and they continue to do nothing but impress me. "Nimrod" is an excellent album with a ton of great songs.

You can see how much the band has matured and how they have grown musically. They are always willing to try new things, which is something you really see lacking in some of these newer punk or alternative bands. The guitar playing is great, the drumming is always impressive, and the singing and lyrics are reflections of top-notch talent.

EVERY song on this album is great, but here are some of my favorites: hitchin' a ride, the grouch, nice guys finish last, worry rock, scattered, king for a day, walking alone, prosthetic head, and time of your life. (Seeing the song "king for a day" actually performed live really enriches the song and makes you appreciate it more.)

Green Day is a fabulous band who has never disappointed me once. I just think they got popular too quick and then people started burning out on them. It is a shame because they are a great band who can play music. If you love to hear outstanding music from an exceptional band, Green Day's "Nimrod" might be the CD for you. Definitely worth checking out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, But Different, April 1, 2000
This review is from: Nimrod (Audio CD)
This CD is a lot different than other Green Day Cd's in the past, but it is still awesome. The songs have many different chords than Dookie. You'll never get tired of it becausethere are 18 songs and it is 50 minutes long! Here are rundowns of all of the songs:

1. Nice Guys Finish Last- an explosive CD to start off the album.

2. Hitchin' a Ride- Another great, short song.

3. The Grouch- this song has the most bad words in it than any other song. Oh well, it's still great and very funny.

4. Redundant- a slower song that's one of my favroites.

5. Scattered- Not the best, but still good.

6. All the time- This song's pretty good but not the best.

7. Worry Rock- This song is awesome!

8. Platypus- A fast and to the point song. Good luck figuring out the lyrics cause they dont have them in the lyric book.

9. Uptight- Not as good as some of the others.

10. Last Ride in- A wonedrful all-instrumental piece.

11. Jinx- Another funny and fast song.

12. Haushinka- this song has many different guitar riffs but it's not all pulled together.

13. Walking Alone- An experimental, somewhat folk song.

14. Reject- A great song with good lyrics

15. Take Back- One of my favorites. This one minute song is great if you have just broken up with someone and you're really mad.

16. King for a day- a funny song about a boy who wants to be a girl. It's an experimental piece that has horns in it so it sounds somewhat like a ska song.

17. Time of your Life- The band shows their soft side with this great song, which is still played on a lot of radio stations.

18. Prosthetic Head- MY FAVORITE SONG ON THE WHOLE ALBUM! Great guitar riffs and great lyrics is why this song is my favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was a fool, October 17, 2000

This review is from: Nimrod (Audio CD)
I'm old school. Actually, I'm just old. I'm 31 and I've been listening to punk since I was 13. I was introduced to Green Day back in 1991, when 39/Smooth was their only album. I saw them play live, and I loved them. 39/Smooth, Slappy, 1000 Hours, these remain some of my favorite records. I liked the records that came later, but never as much as I loved the ones on the first CD. I loved Dookie, I thought it was cool at the time that they took on a harder, heavier, more "punk rock" sound. And while I can't deny that I also liked Insomniac, it seemed to me that Green Day had stagnated into a generic riff style. So, when Nimrod was released, I didn't care. I never bought it. The only song I ever heard off of it was Good Riddance, and it certainly didn't make me want to buy the album. (Not that it's a bad song... it's just Billie Joe's "Yesterday".) Well, last week I was listening to the radio on the way home from work and heard a song that I'd never heard before. I instantly knew it was Green Day. The DJ said that it was off of their brand new album, so I stopped at a record store and picked up both Nimrod and Warning right then and there. Anyway, the short version is: I really wish I'd bought Nimrod back in 1997. It's already my 2nd favorite Green Day album, just behind 39/Smooth. (Unfortunately I think Warning is probably their weakest album so far, though it does have a few very good songs on it.)

5.0 out of 5 stars NIMROD IS THE BEST!, May 25, 2003
By
"sumblink115" (Tacoma, WA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nimrod (Audio CD)
Very possibly the best album ever created, Nimrod is just another example of Green Day's talent and versatility. Billie Joe Armstrong's lyrics just keep getting better and better, Mike Dirnt's bass playing is just amazing, and of course, Tre Cool's drumming, ever changing, is a great part of the album.
Nimrod is a great cd that really led the transition from Insomniac to Warning well. It is so versatile, with ballads, a surf type song, hard metal type songs, typical Green Day music, and much more. Aside from different subgenres of the music, many different instruments are used such as harmonica, the bongos, and of course, the baseball bat. ^_^ Green Day has really matured with this album.
There is not a single bad song on this cd, each one gets a 10 from me.

Nice Guys Finish Last-a great song to start the cd out with, was one of the first songs that really got me into Green Day. Mike Dirnt does extremely well on the bass in this one.

Hitchin A Ride-incredible, excellent song, one of their best. Although it takes a while to get used to, it is really incredible. The drumming in this is very VERY good, I know from playing it on my drums that it takes a lot of skill to get it right.

The Grouch-hilarious lyrics, it's a really good, driven song, explicit, but humorous. Also has a very catchy tune.

Redundant-can't say anything about it except that it's a masterpiece. It's a really beautiful song with really beautiful lyrics. You can tell what a good songwriter and guitarist Billie Joe is, what a good bassist Mike Dirnt is, and what an INCREDIBLE drummer Tre Cool is from just this one song.

Scattered-just another one of Green Day's incredible songs. Possibly one of the best tunes, Billie Joe's voice really stands out in this song. One lyric that I really liked was "Story to tell and I am listening." You can tell they've grown up, because since when is Green Day listening?

All The Time-I know not many people really like this song, but I'm hooked on it. It's not as catchy a tune as some others, but when you get used to it, it's really great. It's one of those songs that you'll be singing for days and days after hearing it just once.

Worry Rock-Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL LYRICS! I love it, it's a really sweet song and it's incredible. Another song in which Billie Joe's voice really stands out.

Platypus (I hate you)--A very good song, it is very hard core and although you can barely understand a word of what Billie Joe is screaming out, it's worth it. You can really tell his emotions through the lyrics.

Uptight-Possibly one of the greatest songs on the cd, the ending is incredible. The beginning verses are also very good, but what really stands out is the ending choruses, the "Uptight, I'm a nag with a gun, All night...." part. It makes a very good transition from Uptight to Last Ride In.

Last Ride In-my favorite instrumental by any band. Sure, not many people are into it because it is sort of slow and instrumental, but it's the one instrumental I can listen to the whole thing through. The guitar and bass really shines, but the main thing to me (thenagain, being a drummer, it would be the main thing) that shines through is Tre Cool's drumming. He strays from the normal "punk rock boundaries" in drumming and really goes to the extra by using more latin drumming. I've heard tons of that drumming in Latin music, believe me.

Jinx-an awesome tune, awesome guitar, awesome song in general. I really like the lyrics in this one, and once more, the vocals are incredible in this song. The tune is very different than many other songs you would find, and it makes a nice transition to Haushinka.

Haushinka-not such a liked song by many people, but after listening to it for a while it can really grow on you and you can see what a great song it is. It is more old style Green Day, as it was written during the time of 1039 Slappy Hours, yet not placed on the Kerplunk cd. Very good song.

Walking Alone-this could very well be one of my favorites, it's got an incredible tune, very relatable lyrics, and harmonica! well, the harmonica is very fun and it is always great to see bands going the extra mile to use different things rather than the normal, set instruments. Green Day makes their own rules.

Reject-this song was written about a person who wrote a hate letter to Green Day, you can really see the emotion in it and the anger through the lyrics. Another harder song on the cd, it's a good one.

Take Back-not really one of my favorite Green Day songs, yet it is pretty good to. A nice job on the harder, metallic rock that's very enjoyable.

King For A Day-even if the song isn't as catchy as others, the lyrics and the horns really make up for it. A hilarious song, a sort of ska song, even if it is about drag queens, it's just way too funny to pass up!

Time Of Your Life-well, everyone knows this one. The classic Green Day song that led them into even being played in soft music radio stations like Warm 106.9 (I've heard them on it), it's a masterpiece. It's very very pretty, I also like the violin in the back.

Prosthetic Head-a wonderful closing song, Prosthetic Head's tune is very good and very catchy. It's a song I got stuck in my head the whole day and ended up writing the chorus lyrics on every paper and wall I could find in a craft store I was dragged into.....

Anyway, in closing, this is an EXCELLENT cd, and passing it up would be...a crime.

4.0 out of 5 stars This started it all for me..., February 15, 2005
This review is from: Nimrod (Audio CD)
I remember it like it was yesterday, I had skipped school that day and turned on the tv. I was about to skip past the Green Day video playing, but decided to give it a chance. Honestly, I never listened to music much, let alone rock, but there was something different about this video playing--it was f-ckin' perfect! The video was "Hitchin' a Ride" and it made me fall in love with Green Day's music! I rushed out to the store afterwards and bought Nimrod, which still to this day is my favourite Green Day album. This is one of the few albums I can listen to without skipping a song.

"Hitchin' a Ride", "Nice Guys Finish Last", "Redundant", and sentimental "Good Riddance" do not even cover the variety of the album and it's a shame most people still haven't given the album a chance even after it's been 7 years since its release.

The most important aspect of this album is how it opened up doors for experimental tracks like "Misery" and "Macys Day Parade" on Warning and the best album of '04 (even if the Grammys disagreed) American Idiot.

This album will always be an important part of my life, every time I listen I'm reminded of seventh grade when I bought this album and then 3 years later in '01 seeing them live. Thanks for the music guys! For the humour, talent, and especially to Billie Joe for the honest, entertaining, and most importantly for the dirty lyrics to "Platypus" which I have yet to find another song equal to its vulgarity. Don't stop making music guys, we f-ckin' love you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, November 2, 2002
By
This review is from: Nimrod (Audio CD)
I'll admit it, the first time I listened to this CD I didn't like it. So I kept it on my shelf for a month or two. Recently I got up the courage to listen to it again, AND I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY I DIDN'T LIKE IT!

1. Nice Guys Finish Last - A great punky song full of energy. Hard not to like. 9/10.
2. Hitchin a Ride - Always reminds me of that oldie Stray Cat Strut. But it is extremely catchy and great. The bass really shines here. 8.5/10.
3. The Grouch - Amazing melody, great poppy-punk. Kinda funny in a way. A forewarning, slightly explicit lyrics. 8/10.
4. Redundant - Beautiful. Plain and simple. 10/10.
5. Scattered - A bit more poppy than punky, but the punk fans will love the intro. It's on the verge of beautiful as well; it's good. 9/10.
6. All the Time - A fast, repetitive song about (gasp) drug addiction. Gets kinda tiresome after awhile. 6/10.
7. Worry Rock - Solid instruments + great vocals and melody = one great song. 9.5/10.
8. Platypus (I Hate You) - Very fast-paced and catchy, though you can't really understand what the heck Billie Joe's spewing out. It's a little more on the metal side, but AWESOME. 8/10.
9. Uptight - Slow(er), but it has a great melody and the bass part is awesome. Crazy, yet great. 9/10.
10. Last Ride In - Awesome instrumental. But, it is an instrumental. 7/10.
11. Jinx - Incredible instrument work and vocals. Catchy as anything. 9.5/10.
12. Haushinka - Most people don't like this, but it has an amazing melody and chorus, and Billie Joe sings very well here. 9/10.
13. Walking Alone - Another unfavored song, but I love it. Just listen to the harmonica! Plus the verses and chorus are like nothing I've ever heard. Which is to say, they're like incredible. 10/10.
14. Reject - Fast, insane...and amazing. 9/10.
15. Take Back - Green Day's attempt at heavy, heavy metal. They fall a little short, but it's cool to hear Billie Joe sing (and scream) the way he does. The instruments don't flaw in this song in the least, and it has an awesome melody if you can hear it. 8/10.
16. King for a Day - Their attempt at ska (SKA!) also falls short. It's not that the song is bad, it's just too weird for them (Mike the bassist does very well though). Plus, it's about drag queens. It's great that they tried though. 6/10.
17. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) - The big one that everyone has heard. It's just singing and acoustic, both of which are done very well, with a touch of strings. It's beautiful. 9/10.
18. Prosthetic Head - Great melody, kinda poppy though. If you listen, you can hear Billie Joe getting high in the middle of it--tee-hee. Good song though. Great way to close off the album. 8/10.

This CD got trashed by the punks because of all the slower songs and variations. I'll admit it's not exactly punk, but more of an experimentation of music. It's a great CD though--certainly never boring.

hey everyone...i bought this album on the same day that i bought Insomniac.Well who would have thought? Green Day actually matured and made probably their most proffessional album to date.Sure we all know their other albums just kicked the worlds @ss but this one is very different.None of the songs sound the same which is somethin you might have noticed in their previous music. There is just somethin about Nimrod that is so different. For instance, who the F**K would have guessed that green day would use harmonica's and trumpets n stuff in their albums like in the songs 'Walking Alone' and 'King for a day'? The song 'Uptight' is fantastic as are 'Hitchin a ride', 'scattered','prosthetic head' 'nice guyz finish last' 'worry rock' and my 2 favourites 'Good Riddance' and 'Haushinka' When them 3 totally awesome dudes play their sh!t you can kiss your sorry @ss goodbye cos this album will blow you away.incase you dont know, there are 17 tracks and they all rock. When i heard the first 7 tracks i thought, well looks like Billie joe has stopped writing fudged up music.then when no. 8 came on i realised i was wrong. The lyrics were so damn crazy they couldn't put them onto the manual.f**ks here and f**ks there talkin bout all sorts of crazy sh!t.I will never hate green day EVEN IF THEY TURN COUNTRY! .In all honesty, Green Day are the best and Nimrod proves it.......

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Album, March 12, 2005
This review is from: Nimrod (Audio CD)
It was when 'Nimrod' was released that I started to like Green Day. I had heard and liked previous singles from them, but had never bought any of their albums. I'll admit it, I was young (about eight or nine) when 'Dookie' was first released, and I was into my Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls CDs. The first time I heard 'Hitchin' A Ride' I fell in love with it, and it remains one of my favourite songs. Even then though, I still didn't go out and buy the album, which is something I regret today. I could have been listening to this fantastic CD since 1997! I actually bought 'Nimrod' just a few weeks ago, after 'American Idiot' instigated my current Green Day obsession. Now that I own all of the band's major label releases, I'd have to say that this one is probably my favourite. They really began to experiment with different sounds, and it worked out perfectly.

The album begins with 'Nice Guys Finish Last'. This is an upbeat track, with an awesome drum arrangement courtesy of Tre Cool. It has clever lyrics ("Don't pat yourself on the back/You might break your spine"), and is a good track, but it isn't one of my favourites. The second song on the album is 'Hitchin' A Ride'. It starts out strong with a violin, then the drums start up and the music really gets going. The lyrics here are top notch and Mike's bass on this track is awesome. Billie Joe's vocals are also fantastic. They're drawn out in certain areas, and yelling in others. This is unquestionably one of the best tracks off of 'Nimrod', and one of the best, most unique songs of Green Day's ever. 'The Grouch' is a humorous, tongue in cheek track. I'd love to post some of the funny words to this one on here, but I have a feeling the language would have to be cut out. This is one of my favourite songs on the album, I love when Tre hits his drum sticks together at the beginning of the song, just before Billie Joe really gets into the song and the drums start. The timing is perfect. The vocals are absolutely flawless. Billie Joe's voice is extremely distinct, and it sounds awesome here.

'Redundant' has a great, mid-tempo intro before the lyrics begin. I don't know exactly how they're meant to be interpreted, but I see this song as a sweet, poignant track. The vocals sound kind of distant and full of sadness and emotion. The fifth track on the album, 'Scattered', wouldn't have sounded out of place on 'Insomniac'. Judging from the lyrics, I'd say this track is about regrets and past memories. After about two minutes, Tre changes the beat of the song with the drums, before it loops back into the vocals to finish the track off. 'All The Time' has a good intro starting out with the electric guitar first and then quickly adding the drums and bass. Like 'Scattered', this song also would have sounded great on 'Insomniac'. The track deals with substance use, very much like 'Geek Stink Breath', except that its lyrics are much more subtle. Therefore, it doesn't come off as the same sort of self-destructive song. The seventh track, 'Worry Rock', opens with notable and likeable lyrics. Take into consideration; "Yelling at brick walls and punching windows made of stone/The worry rock has turned to dust and fallen on our pride". Mike's bass playing is awesome on this track, and the drums stand out a lot in a few places as well.

The lyrics for 'Platypus (I Hate You)' aren't written in my sleeve for 'Nimrod'. I don't know if it was a mistake, if my album is a new one and perhaps the lyrics were printed in the originals, or if they weren't printed because (perhaps) they were too offensive. It's hard to hear what Billie Joe is singing the first time around when you don't have the lyrics in front of you, but if you read them (I had to go online), the song is basically talking about how someone is dying. I remember reading somewhere that the song was written for a critic (I believe), and was written around the time of 'Dookie'. Apparently by the time 'Nimrod' came out with this song on it, the critic had already passed away. It's a very loud, upbeat song and Billie Joe is basically yelling throughout it. I actually quite like this track. 'Uptight' slows down the album a little bit. It's a mid-tempo track, and has an extremely catchy beat. After about a minute and 15 seconds, the music really speeds up for the chorus and doesn't slow down again. The lyrics are repetitive, but that's fine because they're good, and very hard to get out of your head (as I'm quite aware).

'Last Ride In' is an instrumental track with no lyrics. Apparently written during a sound check, Mike really keeps the whole thing together with the bass. I really like this one, I find it helps calm me down when I'm stressed out. Things speed up quickly with 'Jinx'. It's starts with someone (I can't figure out who) screaming "one, two, three!" and then the music comes in immediately. This actually kind of reminds me of 'St. Jimmy' off of Green Day's latest album ('American Idiot'). I really love the lyrics "You finally met you nemesis/Disguised as your fatal long lost love/So kiss it goodbye until death do we part". 'Jinx' merges flawlessly into 'Haushinka' without any pause. I remember the first time I was listening to the album I didn't even know the song had switched until halfway through 'Haushinka', which is apparently about a girl Billie Joe met while the guys were touring Japan around the time of 'Kerplunk!'. The drums in the intro are fantastic and they continue in the same way throughout the first verse before the music changes for the chorus.

'Walking Alone' is an awesome track. Billie Joe puts his harmonica skills to use in it, and it sounds fantastic. The bass is also quite prominent. This is probably the most pop-influenced track on the album, but it doesn't sound out of place. Rather, it just showcases the guys' talent and their willingness to experiment with different types of music. 'Reject' was apparently written after a mother wrote a letter to Billie Joe when her eight year old son received 'Dookie' as a gift from his grandmother, who must have not known what sort of music Green Day played. She basically said that the album was horrible and that it wasn't really music. Here, Billie Joe gets his chance to tell her his thoughts with the lyrics "Who...are you to tell me/What I am and what's my master plan/...'Cause when the smoke clears here I am/Your reject all-American/Sucking up your social sect/Making you a nervous wreck". This is one of my favourites from the album. How can I describe 'Take Back'? Basically, it's a very angry track. At only one minute and nine seconds, it's the shortest song on the album. Billie Joe pretty much yells throughout all of it. It's actually pretty hard to understand what he's saying until he reaches the chorus, where he basically just repeats "take back" a few times in a really weird, throat-y voice. It's an interesting track; good, but not one of the best off of 'Nimrod'.

'King For A Day' is Billie Joe's infamous song about cross-dressing. The music is very goofy and fun, thanks to the trumpets which are included. It has a very circus-inspired theme, which adds to the overall humorous tone of the track. This is definitely a standout song, and one of my personal favourites. By now everyone and their dog has heard 'Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)' about a million times. It begins with a few strums on an acoustic guitar, then silence, then another few strums, followed by another short silence, then Billie Joe actually begins playing. This is a simple song, with exquisite lyrics. I'm quite sure it's most often played at High School graduations (I think mine was the only one in the last few years that it wasn't played at), and I'm sure it's a crowd favourite at live shows. 'Prosthetic Head' is one of my favourite songs on the album. It begins kind of like 'All The Time' does, but with a quieter, more amateur feel. I really love the lyrics on this track, and I think that the song overall is one of the best written ones on the album. Simple, but effective, it supposedly addresses people in Hollywood with huge egos (prosthetic heads). It opens with some of my favourite lines from the album, and continues with the same minimal but impressive observations.

I recommend this album to all Green Day fans (who should already own it), as well as fans of good music in general. The band experiments with a lot of different sounds and instruments, so there's basically something for everyone. If you like simple acoustic tracks there's 'Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)', if you're looking for angrier tracks you can check out 'Reject', 'Platypus (I Hate you)', and Take Back'. 'Hitchin' A Ride' and 'King For A Day' are the most original songs from the album and they really make use of a lot of different music influences. 'Walking Alone' is very pop influenced, and the rest of the album is equally as well done, and stand apart just as much. This is truly an album which transcends so many musical genres, you're missing out if you pass this one up.

THE FINAL VERDICT: 99%

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Abum By Green Day, December 22, 2000
This review is from: Nimrod (Audio CD)
Nimrod is a great album that shows Green Day slowly approaching the stage that they're at now with their latest album Warning. Nimrod shows Green Day's sound slowing down. However there is plenty of punk on this album for the old school Green Day fan. On this album Green Day also touches on many styles of music such as their normal pop punk style as well as ska, hardcore, and there is even an acoustic ballad. The first song on the album is Nice Guys Finish Last. This song is very upbeat and heavy if you will. The first single Hitchin A Ride follows, it begins with violin then turns into somewhat of a punk metal song. It's really hard to describe. The Grouch is a song about Billie not wanting to grow up to be like his dad. This song is very pop punk. Redundant is a slower song, it is amazing. Billie's singing about how hard it is to tell some one your sorry. When you listen to the lyrics you can tell that they have deep meaning. Scattered, Worry Rock and All the Time are all pop punk songs that sound like they could have been on Insomniac. Platypus is a very heavy song, like Green Day doing metal. Last Ride In is an instrumental that sounds very jazzy. It's a decent song, it also shows that they are not limited to one type of music which I think is great. A band should have diversity. Jinx and Haushinka are both heavy songs that run into each other so when listening to the album stragiht through they sound like one song. Walking Alone is probably my favorite song on the album. It is almost folky but it is an amazing song, very catchy with amazing lyrics. Reject sounds like it could have been off of Dookie. Take Back is Green Day's attempt at hardcore. Clocking in at a minute and nine seconds this song is pure insanity. They then go from one extreme to the next putting the song King for a Day next. This song is Green Day's attempt at ska. It features the horn players from No Doubt. the song tells the story of a cross dressing kid. The next song is the "hit" from the album Good Riddance. This song is amazing. No matter how many times I hear it or radio plays it I never get bored of it. The last song Prosthetic Head is a great way to close the album, it pretty much sums up the a cd and ties everything together. It begins with Billie Joe singing over clean tone guitar before kicking into the second part of the song which is not quite punk but it shows that they were in a growth stage. This album honestly was the hardest to write a review for, because it has so many different styles and it can't really be classified. I do however reccommend this album to anyone.

Blah blah blah blah, I've had enough of people bashing Green Day. American Idiot becomes the best-selling album of 2004 so you go and bash that about how they so aren't punk and how you ahould buy stuff from Slayer and Megadeth(whom I ave nothing against). Then, you go to all the other Green Day albums and try to force your musical tastes on everyone. Then, as if trying to sound like you know everything on the planet, and say that if you listen to Green Day you're a pathetic nobody that needs to get a life. If I knew that my tastes in music judges my character, I would've stopped listening to music a LONG time ago.

Let me ask you something, if Green Day didn't make American Idiot, would you be talking about how horrible they are and how stupid the people are that listen to them? No. Isn't that funny? Green Day are a great band, and putting them down just makes you feel important and makes you feel like you have a place in the world. It's no longer safe to call yourself a Green Day fan, as you will be laughed at and you will be called a loser and a poser. So what if Green Day are popular on MTV? Sure, MTV sucks and is evil, but that doesn't mean Green Day aren't good! MTV is another reason Green Day are being criticized. As we have all observed, MTV is trying to turn music into a fashion. When a Green Day video gets played on MTV, a bunch of 16-year-old girls are going to say:"Oh leik I suuu totallly luv grene dayeye," when they don't even own a single album from them and only hear the stuff on MTV. Then, you all make false accusations of Green Day by saying that they're only in it for the money and that they sold out. I would LOVE to hear some evidence of them only being in it for the money.

Okay, so now my review for Nimrod.

Nimrod is another GREAT album from the pop punkers- a sign of the boys maturing. Billie Joe's trademark sneer is tuned down a lot more on this album, but that doesn't make it any less entertaining. Tre's drumming is a little more complicated than it was on Insomniac, and Mike's bass, oh.. it's still the same. I kind of wish Billie Joe didn't mingle the lyrics together in the singing, I often have to check the lyrcis to understand what the h**l he's saying, but I still love the album. Favorite songs:

Hitchin' A Ride
Worry Rock
Platypus(I Hate you)
Prosthetic Head
Good Riddance
King for A Day(possibly my favorite Green Day song!)

Of course, all of the songs are great and deserve attention. I highly reccomend this to all Green Day fans, because remeber:

"Sugar and spice and everything nice wasn't made for only girls."
