If you are just a casual fan of Gackt this may not be the set for you. It is kind of expensive and the songs can be found on his albums. This music is also available through the concert DVD's which allow you to see all the action as well. I would recommend going with the DVD's first. This set is really meant for those people who own all the albums, all the DVD's, the single's and probably the Platinum Boxes as well. If you have been this kind of fan for a while you probably already have the audio versions of the Mars and Drug Party tours anyway as they were released on Itunes. If you have the first Platinum box you even already have a hard copy of the Mars tour recording. So, why would you want this box too? Of course, you want the entire collection and if you can get it in one complete set what could be better.

It is true that almost all of these songs can be found on Gackt's albums but if you've watched the perfomances you know the live versions always have some new twists. Some of his songs just sound much more powerful and emotional when he performs them live. For a long time I wanted a recording of the opening piece of the Sixth Day Seventh Night tour called "utakata no yume", an instrumental piece in which Gackt plays the shamisen, and there is no album version of this piece. There is also a beautiful piano piece called "Solitude" in Jougen no Tsuki the 2003 Crescent tour as well as a very powerful performance of one of my favorite songs: "Doomsday". Other notable tracks, in my opinion, are "Seven" and "Seki-ray" from the R+R tour, "Fragrance" and "Rain" from the Kagen no Tsuki or Moon tour, the acoustic version of "Last Song" from the Sixth Day, Seventh night, and "Metamorphoze", "Redemption", and "12 Gatsu no Love Song" from Diabolos. These are just a few of my top picks from this collection but there are many great things here. I'm sure each fan has their favorite songs and wouldn't you love to be able to listen to every version of those songs you can get your hands on over and over again?

Just the CD's would be enough to make some of the biggest fans jump up and down with excitement but this set also includes something extra: a DVD. This DVD is really just a filming of a radio interview Gackt did to promote the set. He even has a couple of special guests join him, including another Jrock artist: Miyavi who was also part of the supergroup S.K.I.N. with Gackt in 2007. Now if you don't understand Japanese this bonus isn't as exciting as it could be. Sadly, I understand very little and there are no subtitles in English available. However there are some segments that play a few songs that are NOT available on the CD's including a new song called "Justified" written for a game called "Bounty Killer" currently available only in Japan for the PS3. This song is currently unavailable in any other format.

In addition to the music there are also replicas of the actual concert pamphlets containing song lyrics and various photographs. These pamphlets also offer more insight into the story for each concert than is shown in the concert itself. All of this comes contained in a nice red and black box as pictured.

I repeat, this is probably not of any great interest to the casual Gackt fan but any diehard fan will find this to be a must have item. It is rather pricey but you do get your money's worth with 13 CD's and 1 DVD along with the pamphlets, cases and box. I was thrilled when I first heart this collection would be released and I am happy with it in every way (except for the subtitles). If your are a "True Fan" this is for you!
