Editorial Reviews

Sam (Hugh Grant) has it all - a wonderful girlfriend, a successful child psychology practice and a red Porsche. But he's faced with having something he never wanted when he learns his girlfriend (Julianne Moore) is expecting. The news sends the unflappable psychologist into a panic. Torn between advise given by a well-meaning but over-bearing couple, (Tom Arnold and Joan Cusack), and by his confirmed bachelor buddy (Jeff Goldblum), Sam's in serious danger of losing his mind and his girlfriend. He's got just nine months - give or take a week, according to their crazy Russian gynecologist (Robin Williams) - to grow up!

NINE MONTHS is one of the most hilarious movies that I have ever seen!!! This movie made me laugh and cry until my stomach hurt and I recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent romantic comedy. Hugh Grant, Tom Arnold and Robin Williams are all likable, sweet and extremely funny in this film. Julianne Moore and Joan Cusack are beautiful and poignant in this film. NINE MONTHS makes you feel warm and bubbly inside. I love it!!!

Samuel and Rebecca have it all. During their near-perfect, five-year relationship, they've seen their careers thrive; experienced countless nights of passion in their wonderful San Francisco home; and had the freedom to take off on romantic weekends at whim. And then one day they receive a little surprise... one that will catapult their life of Perfect Order into one of Utter Chaos: Rebecca is pregnant, and Samuel's life will never be the same. His frenetic new existence begins with an unlikely friendship with a couple of well-meaning, but overbearing parents, Marty and Gail. This is one of the funniest movies. This movie will make you laugh and cry. I highly reccomend this movie.

I've watched this movie many times since I've been ill, and I know it kept me from going nuts. I laughed out loud from one minute into the movie when Tom starts giving mouth to mouth to Samuel until the very end. My son had to come and check on me to see if I was OK since I was ill. There was never a dull moment. It's exactly how a lot of single guys would act when told there about to become a dad. Especially when their life is just perfect! I adore Hugh Grant, and I thougt the entire cast was terrific and superbly cast. The SUV scenes were truly great and well directed, as were all the others. Hugh brought tears to my eyes at the end of the movie when he picked up the baby and danced to "These Are The Days". Hugh you would make a great dad, and you certainly knew how to hold this baby, maybe YOU need to see the movie again. In my opinion it's right up there with "FWAAF" and "About a Boy" great movies.

Outstanding movie, great for the family. Hugh Grant plays a self conceited man whos getting older and has to decide on whether he wants to make a comitment and be a father. He is in love with his girlfriend (Julianne Moore) and his like is near perfect until she announces her pregnancy. He has to decide whether he wants to be a father and give up his old life and is frightned. His friend (Tom Arnold) plays a father with 3 girls and a pregnant wife and this terrifies him. A great comdey and cute story in general, a nice film.

So let me first say that I have been a Hugh Grant fan since Four Weddings and a Funeral. This movie (9 Months) does not garner high praise from other reviewers, and No Knocks against their reviews...but I love the movie. In fact, I fell in love with this movie the very first time I saw it. Look at the acotrs in this Comedy/Romance/Drama...Hugh Grant, Jullianne Moore, Robin Williams, Tom Arnold, Jeff Goldblum and Joan Cusack. What a Cast...Right? Not only is the movie fun to watch...but there are several scenes where you will want the Kleenex box nearby. Robin Williams is terrific as Julianne's OBGYN. Give this movie a try folks. I wish this movie was on Prime, or at the very least at a $2.99 rental...but unfortunately it is for sale only at this time. For me it was a must have, since I have owned this movie 2 or 3 times previously...only to have them taken by my daughter, as well as other friends...that end up keeping them for their own collections. That's how much I like this movie.
