It is so refreshing to see an erotic romance novel with a good story and mind blowing sex. 3.0 out of 5 stars Okay...not great
This is a Black Lace erotica title, a book originally published in the 90s. I liked the premise of the story: Genevieve Lofton is an account executive for a (London?) ad agency, trying to land a new account for a company owned by James Sinclair. Sinclair offers Genevieve a proposition: if she'll be willing to be his sexual plaything for 90 days, he'll sign on the dotted...

It is so refreshing to see an erotic romance novel with a good story and mind blowing sex. The best part for me is that James and Genevieve are exclusive with each other (except for the f/f scene for James to watch) which made the whole plot all the better. There is no rough sex but alot of sexy bondage and played out erotic fantasies. From the bare butt motorcycle ride to the "auction", this book had me enthralled from page to page. I absolutely loved the ending, but hated for it to end. This book is a keeper for sure and I would recommend it to others if you like this kind of erotic romance.

If you're into M/F erotica with the male on top this is the book for you. Unlike all the other Black Lace books I've read the female lead doesn't have at it with every person she meets. Genevieve is a lady, not some alley cat, but boy oh boy does she purr for her master! Except for one F/F scene (arranged by her master so he can watch) every spot of sex is between the master and his slave. That's what makes this book so good, so intense, so romantic and so bloody sexy. It smacks of reality in this day of safe sex.
I want to thank the author for doing the master/slave storyline with a master who is not into torture, cruelty or mutilation. Bravo!
I agree with another reviewer, out the all the Black Lace books I've read this is one of the best.

4.0 out of 5 stars HOT!, March 15, 2004
This review is from: The Ninety Days of Genevieve (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
As a general rule, I don't care for Black Lace books. This one is an exception. The story centered on one relationship which appeals to the romantic in me. Despite the lack of group sex and changing partners, the story managed to be plenty hot and sexy. It was also at times tender and romantic. If other Black Lace novels just seem to be too out there for you, try this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST Black Lace book I've ever read!, April 14, 2004
This review is from: The Ninety Days of Genevieve (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is by far the best Black Lace book I've read since Captivation! It proves that the heroine doesn't have to sleep with everything that moves to make the novel smolderingly and sinfully erotic. One of the few Black Lace books that center solely on the desires of the female and male protagonists, giving the book an unconventional romantic appeal, The Ninety Days of Genevieve is an insatiable story of uninhibited passions with a dose of BDSM, exhibitionism and voyeurism. Genevieve Loften knows that the signature of darkly handsome James Sinclair will put her on top of the career heap. But in order for him to be part of the advertising firm she works for, she has to submit to his desires for ninety days. Genevieve hadn't anticipated the unorthodox and insatiable sex games that the powerful James has concocted for her. There are various twists and delicious moments in this novel...

The various fetishes in this book -- bondage leather clothes, high heels, exhibitionistic shows, etc. -- enthralled me from beginning to end. The best part is that the author didn't resort to tasteless scenes and cheap dialogue to address the same. The domination and submission in the novel is done in a sophisticated way that does not interfere with the eroticism. The motorcycle exploit is my favorite scene. James is my favorite character in the book. He was an enigma throughout the story. I fell in love with this character! This novel also has a compelling story that mingles well with the erotica. I marvel at how well written this novel is. Lucinda Carrington is a great author. It wasn't easy getting this book, but it was worth the effort! I cannot recommend this gem enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars great book from black lace!, April 23, 2004
This review is from: The Ninety Days of Genevieve (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
i loved this book ~ it was hot, interesting, and focused on their monogamous relationship. while the sex was a *little* kinky, carrington chose to avoid the traps of fetishes and very graphically kinky sex that sometimes can overwhelm the story. the characters were real and believable; my only regret is that it didn't focus more on the relationship behind the relationship and ended abruptly.

5.0 out of 5 stars No surprize this novel's been out of stock almost a year!, August 28, 1998

This review is from: The Ninety Days of Genevieve (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
One of Black Lace's best sellers in '96 and, in my opinion, one of the best erotic novels EVER! In exchange for a career boosting contract, a young woman agrees to become a egnimatic gentleman's sex slave for Ninety Days. Each encounter between the two is more intense than the last! Skillful sensuality, detailed imagery, well-paced sex scenes that are full of tension, energy and eroticism are all hallmarks of this work! If you're planning on having just one erotic novel on your bookshelf, make it this one!

This one is smoking! Just teasing. I really enjoyed reading this erotic romance with a subplot. The characters are hot, the dialogue entertaining, and, the plot is a real page burner/turner.

This is a Black Lace erotica title, a book originally published in the 90s. I liked the premise of the story: Genevieve Lofton is an account executive for a (London?) ad agency, trying to land a new account for a company owned by James Sinclair. Sinclair offers Genevieve a proposition: if she'll be willing to be his sexual plaything for 90 days, he'll sign on the dotted line and agree to do business with her company. Genevieve agrees.

I bought the book because I liked the premise -- I turned a blind eye to the fact that she was essentially prostituting herself. I've read some really good master/slave stories out of the Black Lace line, but when it comes to my erotica reads, I tend to prefer more sex and less story. And I guess more kink. James wasn't a very demanding master and the scenarios he arranged for Genevieve seemed pretty tame...very vanilla, really, focusing primarily on exhibitionism.

The ongoing conflict of the story seemed to be that Genevieve kept throwing it in his face that this was just a business deal...until James arranges one last scene that forces Genevieve to admit her feelings for him.

Since this book ends with the requisite HEA, I guess it should be classified as "erotic romance" rather than "erotica." As is usually the case for me when it comes to such books, it didn't truly work for me on either score.

Of all the Black Lace I have read, this is in my top 3 books. The main character works for an ad agency and she is trying to sell to a big-time buyer. He says he will go with her company if she will agree to follow his "rules and instructions" for 90 days. Within those ninety days, wow! This is sizzling and hot. Scenes on a motorcycle, at a restaurant and at an antique sale -the scenarios are wild and breath-stealing.
The story is good and the characters are well developed, and there is even a little romance.
Over all it was a great read. Highly recommended!!
I am on the lookout for more of her books

This review is from: The Ninety Days of Genevieve (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
The great thing about this book is that the plot can be believable and the erotic sex is carefully planned and executed, or, should I say, devoured ....

I guess the best description of the book is that it is a journey into day dreams that most of us have probably had during a boring business meeting with an attractive member of the opposite sex. As the talk of budgets etc continue, the eyes glaze over and the mind wanders to more delicious things.

The fact that these musings rarely come to fruition makes this book enticing in that our heroine id forced to submit to a 90 day test of being the sexual and erotic plaything of the all important new client that can make or break your career...

So one moment Gennevieve is the, young, beautifull and unreachable professional, and, in a flash, she accepts the offer of a new contract, with conditions, and is stitting butt a.. naked on the back of a Harley being fondled by another driver at 65 mph.....

As a Black Lace novel it certainly is an erotic book for young women on the run and it's easily understandable why you'll find most print runs will sell out immediately ..... oh those naughty naughty daydreams .... well done Lucinda Carrington
