5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Read, Excellent Action
Awesome book...Christian warriars fighting the forces of evil. I am a TKD martial artist and it was very cool to have the details of the conflicts described from another martial artists perpective. I can not believe this is Craig's first novel. Very good read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good light summer read
I bought this book to read over a week's vacation, which I did. It fit the bill nicely. It's an easy light read, yet an interesting enough plot to keep your interest. Not a top shelf book, but a worthwhile read if you like modern thrillers.

As one who reads many books, I found this recently published book to be quite enjoyable. Action, suspense, Biblical references, and interesting characters kept the events moving and the plot captivating. I'm looking forward to his next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Could not put it down!, May 26, 2007
This review is from: The Nineveh Project - A Novel (Paperback)
I took The Nineveh Project on a trip with me. And, though I know better than to read too much while on an airplane (motion sickness), I could not make myself stop. The author paints amazingly powerful images of an ancient city as invading armies approach and, ingeniously, ties them in to a present-day terror. The author's use of historical facts, his providing of clues to the hero through Biblical references, and his use of accurate and exciting martial arts action add numerous levels of enjoyment. Looking forward to reading more of Mr. Alexander's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding!, May 17, 2007
This review is from: The Nineveh Project - A Novel (Paperback)
Alexander has done a breathtaking job of blending biblical history with the modern world in this present day, action packed, thought provoking thriller with twist coming from unsuspecting places. Alexander kept me turning pages wanting more and thinking; could this really happen, if so who will protect us, and how strong is my faith? Can't wait for more from Craig Alexander!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great thrill ride for Christians and non-Christians alike, April 21, 2009
This review is from: The Nineveh Project - A Novel (Paperback)
Fun, fast-paced first novel from Craig Alexander, with creative uses of verses from Scripture, lots of action, and mysteries to uncover. Not preachy. Doesn't offend either. Bought a copy for my teenage nephew; he loved it. Another for my 84-year-old grandmother; she loved it. If you're like me, scouring for action/thrillers/mysteries that hold up to first-rate storytelling standards but don't involve bashing my faith, you won't go wrong with this thoroughly enjoyable novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome debut thriller, April 12, 2008
This review is from: The Nineveh Project - A Novel (Paperback)
Craig Alexander's debut novel contains some excellent writing. It is a tight-plotted action suspense thriller containing some awesome martial arts fighting scenes. Furthermore, without preaching to the reader, it contains historical references from the Bible.

The hero of the story, Aaron Henderson receives visions instructing him what to do to prevent the baddies to become the new world superpower. And, as the title suggests, it all ties in with the city of Nineveh described in the Bible.

I really enjoyed this book and is looking forward to Craig's next novel!

5.0 out of 5 stars adventurous to the utmost, December 28, 2007
This review is from: The Nineveh Project - A Novel (Paperback)
Splendid! Exciting! Engrossing! I couldn't put it down. I always wanted to know what Aaron was going to be involved in next, and to what extent. It kept me alert. I felt I was in a movie theatre in the 50's where the audience interacted with the characters as though they could hear them, or change the plot by their constant yelling out. Craig is a very anointed writer. I have never applied that word to an author, but his book is unique in every aspect. As one that loves to study the bible and biblical history, I found it intriguing as I followed the various geographical locations and symbolism relating to the bible. It was very well written and it flowed smoothly from one scene to another.A Letter to My Sisters: The Way Out

This story delivers action and suspense, decent dialogue, together with fairly well written characters who make fairly rational decisions and beleivable motivations.

It does have Christian themes, but it does so without being preachy, and it manages realistic dialogue that didn't make me cringe. If this were by a more established author I might have some minor quibbles, but overall it is solid IMO, it compares favorably, for example, with most of the post-Ludlum "Ludlum" books.

I could not get into the action segments. Not my style though if you like karate maybe it would be fun. Since I gave up after the second fight, I cannot comment further.
