Por lo demas, el estilo de Rodrigo Rey Rosa, siempre de magistral concision y fuerza expresiva y aqui de extraordinaria y muy bien dominada variedad tecnica, se mantiene fiel a sus constantes y explora en el mundo narrativo que le es propio y distintivo. Desde la extrema parquedad laconica de El chef a la turbadora y economica violencia de Pocoloco o al vasto despliegue, casi de pesadilla onirica, del relato que da titulo al libro, los textos de Ningun lugar sagrado confirman en Rodrigo Rey Rosa a una de las voces mayores de la actual narrativa hispanica.

The deal of the next century and no sacred place, two of the stories in this book are superb. Among Rey Rosa's best work. There is something about writing about what cannot be written about: anguish, the excitement of being alive knowing that death will come no matter what. Puzzling, the stories are alive. They will impress you and shock you. The book confirms what writting and reading is about. Fundamental.
