My cheap Walmart blender did a better job.
Disappointed.
Two, is it seems to trap little drops of water inside the handle after you wash it (which is completely sealed off from the rest of the blender).

This Blender will blend anything (Ice, frozen fruit, etc) but the end result is not very smooth.

This Ninja works really well. It makes everything really nice and smooth and way better than my Waring Pro blender. The Waring cost more but couldn't get it as smooth as the Ninja. Very happy with it.

Worked well for the first year, used maybe once a week. The pitcher cracked and the cheap plastic piece that connects the pitcher to the motor broke so the blades do not spin.

If you are interested in purchasing this product please read this review. It always confuses me when I purchase a product based on overwhelming good reviews on Amazon and find the product to be wanting.

First of all let me explain how I use a blender. I blend every day once in the morning and drink the shake every three hours throughout the day. I blend a variety of foods, from frozen fruits to leafed vegetables. Regardless of what I put in the blender I expect my blender to produce a smooth consistent mixture free of chunks. The second requirement is that my blender be easily cleaned.

At First Glace:
The Ninja product is very cosmetically pleasing. It's quite large and blends enough for my entire day worth of meals. The multiple stack blade is very aggressive and brakes the food into smaller chunks rapidly. And every thing comes apart for cleaning. That said the product has several short comings. First of all the designers have eliminated one of the most convenient features, a hole in the top to add food while the blender is running. Because of this you have to pack the blender with food, let it blend, take the lid off (which always makes a mess), add more food, replace the lid and blend some more. Secondly, despite the fact that the blender reduces foods to small chucks rapidly, the blender must run for a really long time (10 to 15 min) in order to blend a smooth consistent mixture free of chunks. Thirdly, despite the fact that the blender comes apart for cleaning, it is made exclusively from injection molded plastics with several sharp interior corners that are nearly impossible to clean. Last of all the Ninja is very loud. I would say it is 4 to 5 times as loud as my last blender.

I bought my Ninja BL500 at WalMart three years ago. I'm pleased to say it still runs as well as the first time. I make the green smoothie 4-5 times every week. The pitcher is filled almost to the top with many ingredients, including a full tray of ice cubes. Blends every time, never overheats, produces a great smoothie. As one reviewer noted, the spinach/kale does not puree and you do have this drink that is "speckly" but the particles are small enough to drink without a problem.
If the blender did indeed puree all the fruits and veggies, well....I would have rated it 5-star.
For the price, I have no complaints.

I depend a blender nearly every day for OJ in the morning and smoothies for lunch. The motor and blade design are great. BUT the little pour spout lid within the lid broke the first time we dropped it--tiny plastic connectors were very poorly designed. And today, after nearly 18 months, the top pitcher fell off the counter and broke. Bummer. I've spent the last hour and a half trying to find a replacement pitcher. Why is it so difficult? Lots of sites want to sell the product, but despite lots of dead end come-ons, my quest for a replacement pitcher is fruitless. They really ought to improve the durability of plastic parts to match the excellent motor and blades.

I've had this blender for a little over a year. I don't use it every day, but I have used it quite a few times. So far, even after using it to blend smoothies and such, the blades are still RAZOR sharp! It is soooo much better than other blenders in that you aren't constantly having to stop it and cram something down in the mixture to push it towardst the blades. Depending on what you are blending, you may have to let it run a few minutes so that everything gets adequately mixed, but that's not a problem. I am quite satisfied with this blender! The only thing I would like to warn potential customers about, be very careful with the blades when washing. I put mine in the sink and forgot they were in there. Reached into the sink and got a VERY bad cut on my finger!

I bought a Ninja BL5000 less than six months ago at wal mart. I've used it less than half a dozen times to make smoothies. It's been properly cleaned and stored, but as of today it no longer powers on. After reading other reviews I've concluded I've been had by the makers of Ninja Blender, and I'm appalled that they feel they can charge such a price for what is essentially garbage.

I was looking for a blender that would make 'smooth'ies, well, smooth! I ended up chewing the spinach and ground flax even after letting the blender run a little longer and adding a bit of extra liquid. My cheap Walmart blender did a better job. Disappointed as other reviews stated the ninja was a more cost effective powerful blender for those of us who can't afford a vitamix but works nearly as well. Will be returning.
