This game is freaking awesome. The music is better, the controls are more fluent, and new features have been added. Some of the new features are the ability to use your "items" (like fire power) while you are on the wall and grabbing onto platforms and shimmying to the right and left. However, this game has a horrible flaw. Whenever you are very close to an enemy, like not even touching but extremely close, you get hurt. It may just be my game, but I have noticed that that is a big problem. Other than that, this game is awesome and I would recommend it to any gamer. In my opinion, this game is better than Ninja Gaiden II but worse than Ninja Gaiden.

Ninja gaiden III it's top 5 stars, back in 1992 i had to be the biggest ninja gaiden freak there was, i had played and beat all 3 parts in 1 summer, ninja gaiden one is a breeze that i can beat in 30 minutes tops, ninja gaiden II they put alot of work in the music in that game in my opinion capturing the "thunder and savvy of tecmo music!" as weird as that may sound, but it's pure entertainment ,splitting ryu's body into 3 parts helps you through that, and fighting jaquio in a rematch but to a failing attempt, ninja gaiden III is not so easy with badder enemies after ryu, and has betrayal, they didn't put as much effort into the music as the second part but is was enough tp keep people interested, with ryu's power sword and vaccum blades etc, jaquio and ashtar are not there but badder enemies are, next to mega man, contra or even mario bros. the best game ever...

5.0 out of 5 stars NINJA GAIDEN, THE GREATEST GAME EVER, BEFORE RED FACTION, August 28, 2001

This review is from: Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom (Video Game)
this game is by far the greatest game ever on nintendo, its only competition is megaman and contra, i love the powersword, ryu has in this one and also the tricks are harder to do, unlike ninja gaiden one, in which i dominated it to the point of not losing a man, running through the game in 29 minutes, in ninja gaiden 3, you can't run through the game, on the last act, you run out of time. you might be able to kill the first two endings, but the last, will take your time away, awesome, much anticipated prequel to red faction.
