5.0 out of 5 stars Real Hardcore Game One Of The Best Get It. November 30, 2012
By Visa
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
There are certain games that hold a special place in a lot of gamers hearts, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Metal Gear Solid, Sonic the Hedgehog, another one in that list is Ninja Gaiden this game popularized the Ninja action game, often imitated but never duplicated NG was the standard in hardcore action titles. Well 12 years passed since the last NG it came to the xbox in 2004 and was a smash with great graphics, and stellar challenge, followed by a sequel NG2 was another hit, and it seemed like the 3rd one was gonna be another smash. Well it did not turn out that way, the challenge was gone, the RPG elements of building up your weapons, and magic gone, the number of weapons 1. So after that release it seemed as though NG was losing it.

But there was the Wii U version, which was shown off at E3 2011 and there was hope, Nintendo was helping Team Ninja with that game. Well people where skeptical because of how mediocre the one on PS3, and 360 was. But this was not just another port, there was a lot of new things, like the dismembernment it was back, the enemies where much harder now not just dumb drones. There was the edition of Ayane, who now has her own levels, and story and she is terrific, she brings speed, and new types of moves, and magic so she is not in there just for show! I like her better then RYU she is so quick it really helps against a large group of enemies. And in this game you get more then 1 weapon, you can get up to 6, you can upgrade them. And the magic, and the action is more, and it is harder. The bosses are brutal, and i mean that you will lose a lot of times but do not give up you can do it, for people who think Nintendo is a kid company, i dare you to not lose 1 life in this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun but hard! December 13, 2012
By StevyJ
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I've been wanting to try a modern ninja gaiden game being a big fan of the nes version. I can say I'm satisfied with this version. It's a little difficult, no shame in using hero mode every now and then.

5.0 out of 5 stars Casuals BEWARE June 19, 2014
Verified Purchase
If you're a casual gamer just move along right now. This ain't your game lol. It'll make you rip your hair out. As for my hardcore gamers, let's get into it shall we.

After not playing a NG game since the NES, I was more than excited to play NG3: RE on the Wii U. There's just one tiny bit I wasn't prepared for....the difficulty level. Yes friends, NG is a true "gamer's" game. It's unforgiving in battle, but lets you know it still cares with infinite checkpoint respawns. Don't think for a second that just because you can keep respawning to your checkpoint you won't get tired...of dying, or that the game's somehow because of it. The game will drive you MAD unless you play on the easiest setting, which I haven't tried, cuz I ain't no b**** man lol. The difficulty rating for this game goes like this when compared to the normal standard:

Easy in NG = Normal in real life
Normal in NG = Hard in real life
Hard in NG = May cause stress, depression, isolation, insomnia, loss of appetite, high blood pressure, stroke & heart failure. Please check with your doctor before making sure that Hard Mode in NG is right for you.

If you love a challenge, & love to feeling of mastering your craft. This game is for you. I see people saying the battles are repetitive. This is not true. I'm the one who has to keep repeating myself. I reviewed Muramasa The Demon for the Wii on my other Amazon account. GREAT game, check it out if you haven't. People called that game repetitive in battle too but that was untrue. It's just that most people button mash & just move forward because they're no good. In game like these you have to make your own experience. There are countless numbers of button combination to explore. So much so that I doubt anyone can remember all of them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game, bit difficult February 8, 2013
Verified Purchase
This reminds me a lot of the original NES game in the difficulty level. It'll take some time to master for certain. The game did freeze on me once while I tried to shut down during the first boss fight. Been fine since then though. Unlike previous "bloody" games Nintendo has allowed on their systems, this game hasn't been de-bloodified. You have all the violence you might expect from a PS3 version.

The controls are excellent once you get use to them. Haven't been completely sold on the Wii-U touchscreen for everyday use but the game does a nice job of integrating it. Overall, a solid 4 maybe 4.5 stars for me. Was certainly worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST NINJA GAIDEN GAME EVER!! November 25, 2012
By Sjunior
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Do not listen to the biased video game critics who slam this game!! unlike the ps3 and the 360 versions, this game is FAR SUPERIOR, TO THOSE.
The graphics are superior to ps3, and 360 versions, the graphics are better, more detailed, cleaner, and no muddiness or jaggies like the ps3 and 360
versions have.. the challenge has been improved, the enemy AI has been improved, the gore and dismemberments are back. 6 weapons, return of NIMPO and all
new features, like a new character, ayane, and she has several levels of her own to play through...

the golden scarabs return, from the NES GAMES, ALL NEW MOVES, LOTS OF NEW DOWN LOADABLE CONTENT, LIKE new levels and new characters to play as, this is the

so if you have doubts, rent it, then you be your own critic and decide, but if you still need convincing, go to the mii verse chat on your wii u... look at
the great reviews, the fans are giving it!! you will not be disappointed!! if you want a very challenge and triple AAA hardcore title for your wii u.
so what are you waiting for? want a great hardcore title that only the wii u can deliver? then NINJA GAIDEN 3 RAZOR'S EDGE, IS THE GAME FOR YOU!
