Editorial Reviews

Seven friends, struggling with late 20s, early 30's life, find themselves in terrifying danger when a long-dead loved one is magically resurrected and starts devouring souls. To make matters worse, three of them have been granted the power of the Ninja, and now must lead the fight against a power they cannot hope to vanquish. If they fail, the un-dead will overrun their little town, and quite possibly the world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Indy goodness July 28, 2010
By ZomBart
I was lucky enough to catch a promotional copy of this film last year. Very surprised. In a good way. The movie follows an original take on zombies with how they react to people. Sort of a cross between vampire and the bad guy from Dead and Breakfast. It bugged me at first but I got over it quick because I found the dialog so charming and fun.

Not sure how much plot I should give here, but it's about a group of guys who channel ninja powers to fight off a pithy zombie. The zombie crashes a party (like people do) and starts recruiting others. Did I mention that the zombie is aware that he's building an undead army? Anyway, it builds to a big ninja/zombie battle and that's what is important.

This no-budget movie rises above most of the other no-budgets I've seen. The whole thing is handled professionally and with care and for once I wasn't bored. A common problem with these type of films. The girls are cute, the guys are funny, and the zombies (while I can't say scary) were fun to watch.

Watch this one with your friends.
Good job!

Yet another sub-par zombie movie. These will never help my research or preparations for the impending apocalypse. Stick with Romero people. He is the only one that does it right.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ninjas vs Zombies January 2, 2013

This seems like a bunch of guys got together with a handycam, a Mac, several cases of beer, and had at it. there is not so much plot or story as there is a bunch of stuff going on with zombies. This is silly and amateurish, and not particularly well made. but for pure goofiness and weirdness, its first rate. Ive seem more expensive movies that werent much better, i.e. Tokyo Zombie, Ichi the Killer. If you just like to collect movies, go ahead and get this, if your movie dollars are limited, there are far more better movies to spend your cash on.

Yes the story could have been better acted and executed but I knew by looking at the box art and plot that the movie would be a ripe stinker. Come one people I can't beleive anyone can look at this movie and think it would be return of the body snatchers. This looks like a video made by a bunch of high school students. I enjoyed Ninjas Vs. Zombies simply because; I did not go in expecting more than this little Zombie Movie could offer. I like having some weak Zombie movies in my collection just so I can see how bad, BAD can get. The only real negative I have for this movie is the plot seems confused. the characters seemed muddled. There is no clear hero. Heck there is no one to really like on a consistent basis. Ninjas Vs. Zombies is interesting in the sense that you ask yourself what were the people that made this tripe thinking. You never get absorbed by Ninjas Vs. Zombies because; the characters are never developed enough for you to care about who they are. It is not that the SF effects are cheap, they are almost sort of good. This movie NEVER draws you into investing in the story or its characters. A good movie makes me forget, I am watching a "Movie" and Ninjas Vs. Zombies never once made me forget I was watching a movie. So why did I rate Ninjas Vs. Zombies 4 stars because; it was pretty much the DVD Dog I expected it to be. Every so often I am actually shopping for bad movies I can look at and wonder WHAT WERE THE PEOPLE MAKING THIS MOVIE THINKING and on that score Ninjas Vs. Zombies delivers 4 stars worth for sure! I enjoyed this movie in a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 sort of way which is NOT a BAD THING! This Ninjas Vs. Zombies Movie was cheap mindless fun. What more can you ask for in a low budget no name Zombie movie.

2.0 out of 5 stars Zombies vs Ninjas January 16, 2012
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Laughable, but then aren't all zombie movies. It all starts with a group of friends and their perspective girlfriends. Everything is all fun and games till they bring the dead brother back that is when it all goes wrong. The newly made zombie brother starts to eat people for his own gain. He doesn't seem much like the run of the mill zombie. He talks, plots and carries out his need for blood in creative ways. It all goes downhill fast and the beer drinking, pizza eating friends have to anti up. Suddenly they all have super powers and they fight the zombies. It's a fun movie for those of us that like those mindless wonders. =}
