5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff
The first, the best ,and the only. There have been many different trys at the N64 controller but none could, surpass the original.I have tried most others but this one is by far the best. The shape fits great in the palm or most normal sized hands. The analoge stick is one of the toughest I've tried. So all and all this one beats the competition.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very nice but not perfect without repair
The controller I received game in what looked to be very good condition. The only issue was the dpad which got stuck while testing. I heard that this was a semi-common problem for n64 controllers but when I owned the system during it's prime, non of my controllers had that issue. I disassembled the controller, claned and fixed the dpad, which works great now. During...

5.0 out of 5 stars Kinda weird..., February 5, 2005
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Nintendo 64 Controller - Black (Video Game)
Kinda weird talking about a controller, and they usually arn't thought of too much. But this controller is really quite easy to get used to. In several situations, it can be used however the person wants, for comforts sake. It has the classic arrow directions, the newer joy stick, your average A and B buttons, a C button, split into 4 parts for specifics (left right up and down), the return of the L and R buttons from SNES, and a new, never before seen, Z button. All buttons are very reachable, however you choose to hold the controller. It has a total of 13 buttons and a joystick, yet they are all easily accessed. It is complex, but not complex so that things are hard to access. Everything from this point on, is the game programers idea of how it would be best to configure buttons to functions. The Z feels like a good trigger and the joy stick is great for directions in a way the key pad never was.

Another thing, for people who have smaller hands, or bigger hands, it really does not handicapt you in anyway, as some of the bigger, blukyer controlers do (Xbox). The only problom I have noticed, is with my 5 year old brother, he sometimes can't reach a L R or Z, since he is still growing, and really is too small to understand most of the games he's playing anyway.

Another plus is how all the buttons are color coded. With things like Triangle, Square, ect, I remember having big problems remembering which was which, and had to keep glancing down, handicaping me significantly. But it is easy to remember, blue is naturally down, B is a slight extention, and the c's can be felt easily, since they are close together.

To tell you the truth, I can only think about 1 time in a game where I had problems reaching something, and that was the L button while using the joy stick. Usually I just let go with my right hand and tap the L. But what I really, really want to see in the future, is a controller where I can hold it with one hand and do everything. (To use the other for pop-corn stuffing.) The N64 can be held with the left hand alone, and navigated, but the a and b are virtually impossible to tap without dropping the controller.

Enough! The point is, this is like a glove to a hand, exept it isn't warm and fuzzy. Get it in your favorite color! :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars The best video controller of them all!, November 28, 2000

Over the years, there has been many video game systems, starting from the Atari in the early 1980s to the Playstation 2 in the early 2000s. Each one has a unique controller. The early ones, such as NES and Super NES are awkward. Same with the Playstation, Playstation 2, and the Dreamcast. But when we come to the Nintendo 64 controller, we find something completely different. The designers seem to have gotten the shape just right so that your hands can fit comfortably in the best position to play games, with each button placed at the most convenient places so you don't have to reach for them. And unlike the old controllers, your hands aren't cramped so the only pain you feel is if you're playing Mario Party without the gloves.

And black is just a cool color.

The nintendo controlers are definetly the best but after about a year of gameing the joy stick gets sticky. The stick starts to shread its plastic inside of the controler. I had to take mine appart and clean it out.

Alas, my controller has been the victim of my frustrations, so I would need a new one,

5.0 out of 5 stars OFFICAL CONTROLLERS RULE!!, October 9, 2001
By
This review is from: Nintendo 64 Controller - Black (Video Game)
I've had my N64 for almost 5 years, same with my offical
controllers. I would never try an unofficcal controller.
Sure they're cheaper, but it'll save you money in the long
run. If you get what I mean!

This is an awesome controller, great to play sports games like All Star Baseball 98 and Kobe Bryant in NBA courtside and many other cool games from the vast archive of N64 games, keep it up and continue to bring this over the top products for us who are old school.

You can trust this company and their controllers. Considering the age of the N64, it is important that there is a resource to replace old or broken controllers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nintendo 64 Controller, July 25, 2011

Not exactly new (but then again, the system isn't either obviously, that's why I'm purchasing online). But the controller was in really good condition and it IS very hard to find them elsewhere. This was a good deal for a newish, slightly used controller in good condition and in my price range. Anything new was extremely expensive for no reason, buy used and be happy! Thank you!
