The controller fits fairly well into your hands despite appearances, but a big problem with the N64 controllers is that the control stick technology was so new that they didn't quite know how to do it properly. The bits that hold the stick in place and keep it from wobbling are hard plastic and wear down over time. Lubricant helps, and they're relatively easy to repair if you can find stick installations alone.

This is an awesome controller, great to play sports games like All Star Baseball 98 and Kobe Bryant in NBA courtside and many other cool games from the vast archive of N64 games, keep it up and continue to bring this over the top products for us who are old school.

If you get one in good condition (no spills or rough handling) they will last a long time. Though they are better than third party controllers in almost every way, they are smaller and cramped for large hands.

The N64 controls are rather durable and easy to use. Downside: Rare use of the D-pad and the Control Stick gets rather sloppy. Positives: Unless you are trying to break it, you would be hard press to mess it up besides the paint and scratchs.

I ordered 2 GRAY ORIGINAL controllers. I recieved 2 RED "new age" n64 controllers. The controllers work and everything, but I still didn't get exactly what I paid for.

This controller is a good controller. I mean, it was the first controller to popularize analog sticks, in this case called the "control stick" on the N64. The controller is really comfortable. The way that Nintendo made this actually allows you to play in two ways! You can play it like an NES or SNES controller with six buttons on the right, or you can put your left thumb on the control stick and your right thumb on the six button layout. Now, lets talk about the control stick. It's okay, but it's fragile. It eventually gets loose and wobbles around on one side when you let go of it. The buttons are perfect unless you spill and sugar-substance on the buttons. Like for example, soda or orange juice. So this controller is a great controller, especially if you need some multiplayer in Super Smash Bros.

I needed the original Nintendo 64 controller made BY Nintendo for my grandson to be able to play Nintendo 64 games on his PC with an emulator. Works perfectly. And getting one made BY NINTENDO is difficult. There are tons of third party controllers listed, but few originals.

The third party Nin 64 controllers (made by companies other than Nintendo) do NOT work on PC with emulator. (Emulator is a free software download to make Nin 64 games playable on PC)Please note that you also need to buy a specific USB adaptor to hook the controller up to PC. Got the needed adaptor on Amazon for around $6.00.

This controller is GREAT. But unfortunately, it's obsolete unless you want it for the Nintendo 64 obsolete game console or for your PC as decribed above.

I actually saw an original, unused Nintendo 64 controller selling on Amazon for $110.00. Uh...no way! Out of my price range. I found other ones here on Amazon that were used and paid $25 for one and $13.00 for another. I bought 2 to make sure the kid has a backup and both that I bought were in excellent condition. So, grab em if you see em, as they are hard to find...

Its simple and sweet. The N64 controller was one of the most simple to use and, like everything about the N64, nearly indestructible. This controller is built to last and even in used condition it is worth buying. Extras are definitely necessary for the N64 multiplayer games

Although this controller was advertised as having a "tight joystick", I should have been more skeptical about the button quality. Something was spilled on this controller, making the buttons sticky. I opened the controller to clean it out and found that there was a brown dried liquid (probably coke) on the inside. I was not happy with the quality here. Bad purchase.

Always buy Nintendo brand. Don't buy the X brand. A used Nintendo brand controller will be better than a new X brand one. Trust me.
