5.0 out of 5 stars Great Family Friendly Game
This is a great Family friendly game system. The Games have a wide age range from preschoolers(A Bugs Life, Mickey Mouse) to Adult like PerfectDark, Goldeneye. There are sports fantasy games, action, roleplaying etc, something for everyone. Also Nintendo is the only company liscensed to sell Pokemon,if your kids are still into that. You can play up to 4 players on most...

You can play up to 4 players on most games.(A few are one person only) The cartridge system is easy for young children to handle with out damaging them unlike the CD's a Playstation uses... No freeze ups, or blips that shut your game down in the middle before you can save it. My son had been asking for a Playstation for almost a year, until he played on one at a friends house, he changed his mind after the games kept freezing up in the middle of a race or action scene or they kept shutting down and makking him restart the game. Also most of the games save within the game cartridge itself, no extra memory cards to buy. If you are interested in blood, guts and gore, then go with Playstation. But if you want a versatile system for the whole family then N64 is the one.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best there is, March 27, 2000

= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Nintendo 64 smokes all of the competition! I've played Dreamcast and Playstation, but 64 beats them all! There is no wait for loading. PLaystation has a loading time, because of the CD, in the middle of the action. Also, 64 has durable games that won't break, unlike playstation's and dreamcast's CD's. Dreamcast is good, but the games do not compete with Nintendo's games. Do not waste your money, get Nintendo 64. Oh, buy it from Amazon.com, they're the best!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great system for youngsters, January 3, 2001
By
SN (Southern California, USA) - See all my reviews
After waiting years for the price to drop to two figures I finally jumped on the chance of purchasing this system. The graphics is much better than all the past Nintendo consoles and Gameboys. You can finally save your games on an included memory card. A few games cartridges have built-in mem chips for the old NES, but the batteries do run out. Anyway, there is virtually NO loading time on the N-64 unlike the Sega DC, Sony PSX, or disc based systems. Most games on the N-64 are for youngsters under 15 though, but older folks who are a "kid" inside will like it as well (moi).

The N-64 may be the last major "cartridge" based system, after that the Gamecube will have 3" discs. Plus other companies' systems are/will all be disc-based.

I give this system 4.5 stars, which rounds up to 5. Thanks for reading.

-Sol

Nintendo 64 is the best system out right now. It has great graphics and better games. Nintendo makes the best games because they have the most contracts with companies. Also Nintendo systems retain their value more than Sony or Sega. Nintendo is a great investment and you kids will love it. Buy this system.

5.0 out of 5 stars N64 Is the best, May 15, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Nintendo 64 System - Video Game Console - Jungle Green (Game Cartridge)
Hello all you Nintendo fans. I have a N64 and I think it is the best system ever. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, waist all your money on a mumbo jumbo PSX, PS1, PS2, or Dreamcast. They are the worst systems ever. If you want a good deal for your money, buy a Nintendo 64, unless you want to buy the newest Nintendo System, GAMECUBE, coming out soon. Back to the system, Nintendo 64 has the best graphics ever, except for PS2 and X box, but they are awful. N64 has the greatest games and of course controler. If you want games such as Mario and Zelda, buy a NINTENDO 64!! Did you know that some Nintendo 64 games don't even need a memory card. That will save you lots of money.

5.0 out of 5 stars N64 is a great system, September 26, 2001
Although there has been a lot of critism on the N64, all of it has been the lack of games. The N64 has had around 20 must have titles on it, but they were all spread apart so mfar in the later years of the console. Now that the price is lower, this is the perfect itme for owners to pick up the system and get the great games, especially since the price will be going down for software shortly with the release of gamecube.

I just bought this for my son and it is great. My son and I thought PS1 and PS2 were the best but games on N64 like Super Smash Brothers, Super Mario 64,Madden 2002 and more are even better. If I were you, I would by the Nintendo 64 in Jungle Green.

I just bought an n64 and can't wait for it to get here. I already have a dreamcast and ps2 and although the n64 can't touch their graphics it is still a good system to get. I didn't buy if for the graphics I bought it for the games, like wave race 64, perfect dark, the zelda games, indiana jones, and the turok games. This is one system that still shouldn't be underrated.
