Great Family Friendly Game, March 14, 2001
This is a great Family friendly game system. The Games have a wide age range from preschoolers(A Bugs Life, Mickey Mouse) to Adult like PerfectDark, Goldeneye. There are sports fantasy games, action, roleplaying etc, something for everyone. Also Nintendo is the only company liscensed to sell Pokemon,if your kids are still into that. You can play up to 4 players on most games.(A few are one person only) The cartridge system is easy for young children to handle with out damaging them unlike the CD's a Playstation uses... No freeze ups, or blips that shut your game down in the middle before you can save it. My son had been asking for a Playstation for almost a year, until he played on one at a friends house, he changed his mind after the games kept freezing up in the middle of a race or action scene or they kept shutting down and makking him restart the game. Also most of the games save within the game cartridge itself, no extra memory cards to buy. If you are interested in blood, guts and gore, then go with Playstation. But if you want a versatile system for the whole family then N64 is the one.

The best there is, March 27, 2000

Nintendo 64 smokes all of the competition! I've played Dreamcast and Playstation, but 64 beats them all! There is no wait for loading. PLaystation has a loading time, because of the CD, in the middle of the action. Also, 64 has durable games that won't break, unlike playstation's and dreamcast's CD's. Dreamcast is good, but the games do not compete with Nintendo's games. Do not waste your money, get Nintendo 64. Oh, buy it from Amazon.com, they're the best!

Great system for youngsters, January 3, 2001
After waiting years for the price to drop to two figures I finally jumped on the chance of purchasing this system. The graphics is much better than all the past Nintendo consoles and Gameboys. You can finally save your games on an included memory card. A few games cartridges have built-in mem chips for the old NES, but the batteries do run out. Anyway, there is virtually NO loading time on the N-64 unlike the Sega DC, Sony PSX, or disc based systems. Most games on the N-64 are for youngsters under 15 though, but older folks who are a "kid" inside will like it as well (moi). The N-64 may be the last major "cartridge" based system, after that the Gamecube will have 3" discs. Plus other companies' systems are/will all be disc-based. I give this system 4.5 stars, which rounds up to 5. Thanks for reading. -Sol
