Sorry Turtle Beach but your headphones blow the mic in the Nintendo DS Lite!!! We have three DS's in our house. One for me, one for my son one for my daughter. I purchased the kids a black and a pink pair of these earphones for their DS's. The earphones work great, sound great and the mic is fantastic, HOWEVER, try your DS mic without the headphones after you use these a couple of times, it's shot! We blew all three mics, sent all three in for repair but it wasn't until my niece used the headphones on hers and her mic blew that I made the connection.
BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK, TURTLE BAY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DAMAGE!

With games like Pokemon coming out, players finally have a reason to use the headphone jack on the DS Lite. Oddly enough, there are virtually no headsets on the market so I picked this product as a default. When I plugged it in for the first time, I was blown away at how good the games I'd already had sounded. Games like Elite Beat Agents are much more fun when you can actually hear all of the songs playing and other games like Lunar Knights that require blowing into the microphone are much easier when you don't have to bring the system directly to your face. If you have a larger head however, than it may take some adjusting to get the microphone comfortably in front of your mouth so you don't have to contort your face every time you need to whistle. All in all, while these headphones do not provide theater quality sound they definitely enhance the portable gaming experience and do so at a reasonable price.

Really nice sound, as expected from turtle beach products, Sensitive microphone (possibly a little too sensitive.), Volume control. sturdy wire with wire guards at all ends to prevent fraying at wire entry points. And a few color choices to pick from. Your kid will probably love it, and be able to use it a while.... However.. It's not the most practical design. It should have been constructed with a Right angle DS Mic/Audio jack. It's jack juts outward and down, which bends the wire hard, when tired little arms begin to sag from hours of play. It's not the most practical headset either. It's jack does not come with an adapter to convert the DSJack into a standard headphones and audio jack, So don't buy this one thinking that you'll have universal headset compatibility. Additionally, there is no "Mute" button on the cord for the microphone. Though few games utilize the Mic functions of the DS as is, A Mute function might be preferable for those Metroid Hunter matches, when you dont want your friends to hear you curse in channel, because you dropped the DS on your toe.
