5.0 out of 5 stars Didn't know the DS sounded this good
With games like Pokemon coming out, players finally have a reason to use the headphone jack on the DS Lite. Oddly enough, there are virtually no headsets on the market so I picked this product as a default. When I plugged it in for the first time, I was blown away at how good the games I'd already had sounded. Games like Elite Beat Agents are much more fun when you can...

Sorry Turtle Beach but your headphones blow the mic in the Nintendo DS Lite!!! We have three DS's in our house. One for me, one for my son one for my daughter. I purchased the kids a black and a pink pair of these earphones for their DS's. The earphones work great, sound great and the mic is fantastic, HOWEVER, try your DS mic without the headphones after you use these a couple of times, it's shot! We blew all three mics, sent all three in for repair but it wasn't until my niece used the headphones on hers and her mic blew that I made the connection.
BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK, TURTLE BAY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DAMAGE!

With games like Pokemon coming out, players finally have a reason to use the headphone jack on the DS Lite. Oddly enough, there are virtually no headsets on the market so I picked this product as a default. When I plugged it in for the first time, I was blown away at how good the games I'd already had sounded. Games like Elite Beat Agents are much more fun when you can actually hear all of the songs playing and other games like Lunar Knights that require blowing into the microphone are much easier when you don't have to bring the system directly to your face. If you have a larger head however, than it may take some adjusting to get the microphone comfortably in front of your mouth so you don't have to contort your face every time you need to whistle. All in all, while these headphones do not provide theater quality sound they definitely enhance the portable gaming experience and do so at a reasonable price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nintendo DS Earforce D2 Headphone Pink, March 27, 2007
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Really nice sound, as expected from turtle beach products, Sensitive microphone (possibly a little too sensitive.), Volume control. sturdy wire with wire guards at all ends to prevent fraying at wire entry points. And a few color choices to pick from. Your kid will probably love it, and be able to use it a while.... However.. It's not the most practical design. It should have been constructed with a Right angle DS Mic/Audio jack. It's jack juts outward and down, which bends the wire hard, when tired little arms begin to sag from hours of play. It's not the most practical headset either. It's jack does not come with an adapter to convert the DSJack into a standard headphones and audio jack, So don't buy this one thinking that you'll have universal headset compatibility. Additionally, there is no "Mute" button on the cord for the microphone. Though few games utilize the Mic functions of the DS as is, A Mute function might be preferable for those Metroid Hunter matches, when you dont want your friends to hear you curse in channel, because you dropped the DS on your toe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Color not exactly as pink nintendo ds-but my grand loves it, July 18, 2007

My grandaughter stated she had to have this to communicate with her pink nintendo DS Lite, after I got it I noticed it was not exactly the same color as the Nintendo DS Lite but it works just fine.
I'm buying one for my 2 nieces as they are getting the pink Nintendo DS
Lites for Christmas & since my grandaughter loves it, I know they will also like it.
Not a bad buy, it seems sturdy I just hopes it lasts..Don't want to spend another $20.

i highly recommend this product. i bought the black one although it doesn't really match my ds because i have the zelda gold DS. i thought about buying this product because of two reasons. one is that i was sick of putting my face near my ds when i have to "blow" for a certain game (like wario and lost in the blue). this causes lost of sight of the game and or little orbs of spit on the screen. the mic being near your mouth all the time is really convenient and i always have a view of the screen.
another reason is that i play animal crossing a lot. for those who play animal crossing you know that catching bugs or fish can be helpful if you can actually hear them. this is great because when i started using the headphones, i heard sounds i've never heard before while playing animal crossing. plus it's great that these headphones come with its own volume control.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite happy with this, February 7, 2008

I got this for my daughters DS since she hates the earbuds (fall out all the time). She says it's very comfortable and uses it all the time. She doesn't like the wierd little microphone though. Even when she bends it all the way up she still knows it's there and it bugs her - lol. I wish the headband part were thinner though - it doesn't fit in her DS gearbag real well, but that's minor - she likes and uses it, so $$$ well spent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nintendo DS Lite Earforce D2 Headphone, February 23, 2008

This headset was a perect solution. Our child's DS had a malfunction in the internal microphone, so he conuld not use the voice recgonition features of the games. This headset allows him to use the games again. The audio quality is good and the price is lower than in the retail stores.

I found the headphones to work very well. They fit snuggly and are adjustable. I also like the fact that they have their own volume control.

Nintendo DS Lite Earforce D2 Headphone Pink

I have to admit I have not used the headphones very often, but they are just as described. I think I would have preferred something smaller for storage and more of an ear bud type. I find these hurt my ears when I use them very long. The sound quality is good and I love the pink.
