5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!
This works great for charging both my DS Lite and classic DS from USB. I also like the included keychain flashlight- it's kind of random thing to include that is in no way related to the charger, but it's quite bright and handy to have anyways.

I'm not sure why the previous reviewer says that it doesn't fit the DS Lite- it does, perfectly. Perhaps she is...

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not Buy for the Lite version!!!
How can Amazon sell such an accessory? I used the cable once and it will certainly be the last time since now it is stuck in the DS lite! It cannot be removed. It charges the DS (although it takes much longer from a USB port) but I cannot use the regular charger any longer.
If you do not want to damage your DS lite stay away from this product.

I'm not sure why the previous reviewer says that it doesn't fit the DS Lite- it does, perfectly. Perhaps she is trying to use the GBA Micro adapter that is included? You don't need to- the adapter is only to charge classic DS/GBA or GBA Micro- the cable itself is all you need to charge DS Lite.

It works though it is a little flimsy. My sons have this because I asked their uncle to buy it for them. It does work on the DS lite and Game Boy that we have. You cannot use the round adapter on the DS lite, but it works with the cable. It is a little flimsy, but for the price, is OK. My sons have gone through many chargers with their game boys, and I expect them to do that with the DS. Not a big problem if you read the directions and look at the cables.

Perfect Christmas gift. Saves alot of trouble in the car when the Nintendo battery dies. I love the adapter for the Nintendo DS so my other son can charge his too.

I purchased this for my daugter's DS after one too many long distant car rides when the DS went dead. It was wonderful for her, and me. It comes with everything she needs to keep playing on the road, and keep the chaos in the car down to a minuim. And, with five kids, this is a real blessing!! The additional UBS cord allows her to plug in anywhere, and the 6ft car charger has ample cord to reach from the 2nd or third row seat. A smart 'after thought' and a wonderful mother's helper. I don't depend on the DS for around town driving, but when we are traveling three hours or more, this travel kit is a must have for the portable game families. It is compatable with her older Game Boy, as well. Can't go wrong with this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shoddy cable, March 9, 2007
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Nintendo DS Lite Travel Power Pack (Accessory)
Within a month of regular use, the USB cable that is the one necessary component of this product to work, fell apart. Much like the very, very thin cable that Nintendo puts out for the DS LIte, thisvery, very thin cable comes rips open under the lightest possible circumstances. I keep a number of cables and wires on me at all times, and this has never happened with them. Ever. It is truly shoddy merchandise. Unfortunately, it's no better or worse than what Nintendo sells. I am looking for third party products to deal with this expensive hassle. At my current rate of money spend AC adaptor cables, i've paid almost the equivalant of half a DS within four months.

Stay away and look for better quality unless you are prepared to treat that wire like a thin glass sculpture.

EDIT: I have since found a dependable replacement, although it is no longer in stock: Nintendo DS Lite USB In Car Adapter. It's rugged and has traveled with me around the world in my computer bag with my DS for nearly two years now. I suggest looking for something similar to this instead of Nintendo DS Lite Travel Power Pack. There are far better alternatives out there.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do NOT buy for the DS Lite!, December 28, 2007
This review is from: Nintendo DS Lite Travel Power Pack (Accessory)
I got my DS Lite today and picked up this travel pack for it as well. I charged the DS on the way home and everything was fine... until I went to remove the car adapter. It was stuck. I mean, seriously stuck. So stuck that we thought it was locked in place and we had to press on something to get it out.

We couldn't figure out it for the longest time, even after having my dad, a mechanical engineer, examine it-- the best suggestion he could offer was just to pull incredibly hard. I was so afraid I would break the DS, I didn't want to try it, but finally my boyfriend took a pair of pliers and managed to get it out. My DS is fine, but I will NEVER use that adapter again.

DO NOT BUY!

This is not a game, hence, questions 1 and 2 are ridiculous. It is unfortunate that Nintendo uses different connections for the DS, Gameboy and DS Lite--we found out the hard way. Our first power pack was for the DS, which didn't work with our DS Lite.
This power pack solves that problem and I would therefore recommend it.

I dont know much about electronics and game stuff. I got this as a gift for my husband for christmas. It was something that I thought that he would enjoy while he was home and while he was deployed. But come to find that he absolutely loved the whole kit. The other plus with it too was that it was USB compatable meaning that in one car ride we can charge our gameboys and my ipod. it was great. I would highly recommend this for someone on the go with a slight budget, because yes there is always going to be the pricier model with a bunch of extra stuff. Even though this item is actually a good brand. but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
