Modern handheld gaming has long been dominated by Nintendo and Sony. Each hardware manufacturer has multiple viable offerings derived either directly, or evolving from the respective DS and PlayStation Portable product lines. All of these devices are impressive multifunctional devices, with designs meant to encourage gameplay on the go, integration with the Internet, backwards compatibility to previous games, and so on, but each goes about this in different ways. Taking a few minutes to examine the main features, and getting more familiar with available options, accessories and possible limitations of each handheld is the optimal way to determine which is the best choice for a player.

I was tricked by the deal. It was too good to be true. The problem is when the system comes with preloaded games it takes up all the limited memory, so the Intenet wouldn't load or crash all the time because it ran out of disk space. I would suggest to everyone to always buy their games separately from the game system. Also, it doesn't come with the seperate game disk or instructions, so if you delete it from your DSi its gone permanently.

We purchased the Brain Age bundle when it was on sale at Amazon. The DSi itself is a great improvement of the DS light. The cameras and photo manipulation software are just a fantastic addition to the DS. The bundle is only worth the extra cost if you have not played Brain Age games in the past. If you have, there is little more to the games.

This was purchased for our younger son to the chagrin of our older who has a Nintendo DS. The DSi has many great upgrades over the DS model. If you are making a choice between the two, I would get this one since the extra bucks are worth it.

We love how this DSi has some games already loaded onto the system. Having five games pre-loaded is a great feature since sometimes cartridges are forgotten or don't work properly. You get: Card Games, Suduko, Brain Age Arts & Letters and Brain Age Math. Only Suduko is rarely played. You also get a camera, sound, option to play via wifi with others, chat forum, Nintendo browser, and Flipnotes (to keep notes). More importantly, you get the option to set parameters for their usage with parental controls. I love this feature!

The camera and sound has proven to be the most used of these features. My son loves to take photos and distort them. This has proven to be a great way to keep him occupied during long trips. You can store several photos but not a whole bunch.

This model is a mat white and gets dirty very easily but we use a cover so it stays good as new. This color was a cheaper option so it was a bargain.

I highly recommend the DSi for hours of fun. I find myself grabbing it when I know I have a long wait ahead of me. As we have a young child, we do not use all of the functions this model provides (it would be better for older kids) but we still love it.

Purchased this as a gift item. No problems thus far and the product is getting lots of usage. The children especially like the digital camera feature and ability to add animation.

I bought this for my five year old son for Christmas and I think it is acceptable for his age. Its the only thing I have ever bought him that he hasn't lost interest in a month. It is now July and he plays with it a few times a week! The brain age game wasn't age appropriate but I have fun with it! :) There are some educational games that I like to let him play. If he is going to do it he might as well be learning!

Bought this for kids for Christmas a couple years ago. They still use their DSi's. After a couple years, a battery went bad and bought a cheap replacement on Amazon. Years of fun for the grandkids.

Bought this for my kids and ended up "sniping" it for myself. As a former Dr. Mario Gameboy addict, the first thing I did was download the Dr. Mario game directly to the DSi via the wireless connection at home. Super easy! Same one as the old game with the exception of the 'shadows' showing where the 'pills' will be landing at the bottom of the screen. They are a bit distracting, but I still love the game. Easy to stick in my purse to play during my down time around town....waiting for kids after school & after sports practice, dr. office visits, DMV, etc. Now my husband is getting hooked....Might be time for a 2nd one.
