Modern handheld gaming has long been dominated by Nintendo and Sony. Each hardware manufacturer has multiple viable offerings derived either directly, or evolving from the respective DS and PlayStation Portable product lines. All of these devices are impressive multifunctional devices, with designs meant to encourage gameplay on the go, integration with the Internet, backwards compatibility to previous games, and so on, but each goes about this in different ways. Taking a few minutes to examine the main features, and getting more familiar with available options, accessories and possible limitations of each handheld is the optimal way to determine which is the best choice for a player.

Mario & Bowser,

This review is from: Nintendo DSi with Mario & Luigi Bundle - White (Video Game)
With all the hype around the Nintendo DSi, many gamers have found this past year a new and great way to play their favorite games on the go. Nevertheless, with all the kinds of games out there, and many different version of the DS out there like the DS LIte, and the new Nintendo DSi XL, it is honestly very hard to choose which one is the best for you to master. But for those whom just want a great game to master with the DS immediately, they can have one with this brand new Nintendo DSi bundle pack, with one of last year's great Nintendo DS games, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Well, is this bundle pack worth the effort, absolutely if you're a hard core Mario fan, and here is why.The new Nintendo DSi bundle pack with Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is a strong and challenging game, as you play with you favorite 2 plumbers Mario & Luigi, as you go inside the madness of Bowser, and something that he has eaten, which has caused him to be sick. As you play with the game, you also encounter numerous enemies, and you also get Bowser in on the action as he tackles foes you couldn't even dare to believe you're playing against. The graphics are good, and the control is very simple. Nevertheless, the Nintendo DSi has a lot more to offer in terms with the system. Aside from this game, the system plays all your favorite Nintendo DS titles like Mario Kart DS and Brain Age, and also you can also choose to download other great games through the Nintendo DSi Shop like Art Style: Base 10, Pharaoh Pinball, Dr. Mario Express and many other great titles. You can also take great pictures on the go too, and send them online via facebook to share with your favorite friends and online buddies with the DSi's camera, as you can not just make funny photos, you can change their color to black & white, share them by adding flowers and other things, as well as record messages. You can also play music that is stored on a SD card which is where you can store all your saved photos and shared memory. It is very easy to operate and definitely well-worth the effort. Yet with all the great things the Nintendo DSi can do, there are honestly a few disadvantages with this versionof the Nintendo DSi. The first one is that you have the same flaws if you've bought the Nintendo DSi alone. The first one is that you can't play Game Boy Advance games on the system, and certain add-ons that were designed originally for the Nintendo DS. If you've bought the Nintendo DS Rumble Pak or GBA games like Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Brother 3 and Legend Of Zelda: Link's Four Swords Adventure, you honestly will not be able to play those games here. The second disadvantage is that you definitely is the music playback compatability. If you've downloaded a song that is in MP3 or WMA (Windows Media Audio) format, you won't be able to play it back. You'd have to burn it to a CD or DVD, and then rip it into the lesser-known AAC format which is the only format capable for playback on the Nintendo DSi. Despite those few flaws, the Nintendo DSi is still a fun and enjoyable game system for anyone whom wants great gaming on the go. If you're interested in the Nintendo DSi XL, but want a game with it instead because it is cheaper, than you definitely are better off with this Nintendo DSi bundle pack with Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. I absoluteloy recommend the Nintendo DSi because thereis so much excitement to offer, and the gameplay is just as fun that only Nintendo can deliver where the Sony PSP can't show for its hard core gamers. This review is from: Nintendo DSi with Mario & Luigi Bundle - White (Video Game)
My son just got this for his 5th birthday and he LOVES it! Previously he had the Leapster 2, which was a lot of fun for him, but the DSi obviously blows that away. He's still a bit young to take advantage of the full capabilities of the DSi (internet, camera, etc), but we chose this model with the hopes of being able to hang onto it a few years longer before needing to upgrade. Ignoring all the awesome game aspects of the DSi, I really like the fact that the DSi is a lot more comfortable for him to hold and play since it's so much lighter and smaller. It is a little difficult finding age-appropriate games for him, but we've found a handful and are very happy with this purchase!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nintendo DSi with Mario & Luigi Bundle - White (Video Game)
This is a great value. for the price of a single DSi you also get Mario and Luigi / Bowswer's inside story. The game alone is one of the best sellers on Amazon, and there is a reason. It is GREAT. lots of cool humor and RPG elements and it's never dull. You actually get the game in it's retail case too, not just the cartridge packed in a special wrapper. Nice touch Nintendo! The DSi is an improvement over the DS Lite. Screens are brighter and a little bigger. The cameras are a nice addition. Hopefully more games will arrive soon that utilize them. However the DSi comes with a nice photo manager/manipulator to goof around with your pics. There are some nice little applications included and overall I am pleased with the purchase. One minor gripe is the box you see on the description is a glued container. So you will pretty much destroy the main box getting getting to the DSi and the Game. As I said before the game and DSi are both in their standard retail boxes, inside the bundle box. So, if you already have a DS Lite and are looking to upgrade, I say go for it.
