I would just like to make a correction so nobody gets confused.

There are TWO official online games as of now. Phantasy Star Online Ep. I&II, and PSO III

NO other ones are online. The only other ones that can be considered online are Mario Kart, Kirby, and 1080, and these are LAN games. Therefore, you need to have a broadband connection, and download a program online to connect you with gamecubes far away.. .

But they are not officially Online.

Anyway, the modem is easy to install, just as the broaband adapter is. You can go online with the two PSO games out for the cube, however, you cannot go online with the LAN games.

In my opinion, doing online with the Gamecube would be great...but the problem is the amount of games available at the moment. There is only one game(that being Phantasy star online) and it costs an extra $$$ a month. Nintendo really needs to start working towards a wider variety of online games.
Rumors have it that a Mario game, Mario Cart, Mario tennis, and Mario golf are going to be online...but all i want to know is WHEN!?
Change the 3 star rating to a 4 if Nintendo does release those games, and change it to a 5 if decent third-party games are released on it.

I like the idea of being able to go online and play games, but one problem is that the only game available to play online is phantasy star online. It's a great game, but i really dont think its worth paying 40 dollars for the adapter, then an extra 8 dollars a month to sega. It would definately be worth buying if sega didn't charge the 8 dollars a month. There are also rumors of other games such as mario golf and mario kart coming out soon.

Okay, I bought this Modem with Pso when the game came out. I have to say this installation of the Modem is so easy compared to the PS2. Just snap it in and when you here the little "Click" your done. I would recommend this for anyone who is willing to play online with Phantasy Star Online. And not only does it work with Phantasy Star Online Ver. 1/2. It wi'll be really good to have when PSO Ver. 3 Come's out in the future. Anyways if you want to play 2 great online games for the GameCube the Modem Adaptor is a way to go.

This is amazing! Supporting PSO online is awesome. One bad thing though. Although it's only 9 dollars a month, the cost of my phone charges would be tremendous. However, it still deserves 5 stars. Have fun, it's a great way of leveling up your characters. And you'll get a lot of cool stuff online.

I bought this adapter and it is easy too instal and is the greatest game accesory ever. some of these reviews are old but now there are many online games available for gamecube like 1080 avalanche, mariocart double dash, mario golf, Phantasy star 1,2,and 3, lord of the rings, need for speed under ground,final fantasy crystal chronicles ect...

Ok come on!! me personaly am not a huge fan of this idea. Phantasy online is the coolest game ever!! but thats it. Spens an extra 55 dollars to play it online is not cool. It also cost extra. Yea people say mario games are gonna be online but remmeber this. Mario games like mario golf are bound to be terrible. Me thinking that personaly. I like mario kart though. So all in all ur looking at about 2 cool games to play online fo 55 dollars and it rises. Nintendo WILL throw in a price to play mario games u know it. If i was you i owuld wait and see what games are going to come out for the internet before rushing into it. Me personally will wait, phantasy star online will be cool if i bought an internet adaptor but im not spendin money on that!!

It rocks! This is awesome. You have got to get this for any game that goes online. Like Phantasy star online. Trust me I am a gamer, I know these things okay. So if you like online games get this so you can go online and play with your freinds. It is so cool!! My name is willy but my freinds call me Ja-red.

Ok, I have not bought this myself yet, although im going to do it today. But i have several freinds that have it and they all love it. Mainly because they're huge PSO fans. The charge is not bad, 8 dollors a month, cause think about it. If you get alowence or if you have a job, its practicly no problum. For me, this is a great item to have, who knows what great internet games Nintendo will come out with later. This deserves 4 stars.
