Nintendo DS Lite Silicone Case/Silicon Cover for NDS Lite (Black)

I purchased the non-premium kit ($9.99) with a Silicone skin case cover and 2 screen protectors (one for each screen), but it is the same case. The problem is that the silicone skin cover is slippery, twice as slippery as the Nintendo Lite without the cover. We thought that washing them in Dove dish soap would wash away the slipperyness, but that didn't work. After handling the cover, your hands have a slippery residue on them. The other issue is that the cover is so thin that it is little more than scratch protection, not impact protection. The screen covers that come with the non-premium kit are ok, I guess, but one of them had 2 defect particles that were raised (trust me, the screen was clean).

I purchased 2 kits, and I had one screen protector defect and my wife accidentally broke one of the silicone covers hinge straps with little effort. I do not recommend this product at all.

My children get the DS all dirty with fingerprints all over it. This cover is perfect. It does not cover any of the buttons or blocks the little stylus from being accessible. Worth the money and the protection.

I recently got this item and it actually isn't that bad. I purchased the one that doesn't come with the screen protectors in color black. There is one problem though. I wouldn't advise putting your DS in a dusty or hairy area or even in your pocket with this skin on. It catches materials fast but they an be easily removed.

When I first got it I was thinking "what is this piece of crap?" But when it's on a DS it looks much more appealing except for the fact that the edges of the silicone case aren't really fine cut, so in some parts the edge is jagged.

First off, let's talk about the price. Had this item really been priced at $29.99 instead of the "83% off" price of $4.99... it would have been an immediate "no sale".

Getting that out of the way, it's a pretty decent skin for your DS Lite. The silicone rubber has been meticulously cut and sculpted to allow access to every single button, function, notch, etc. They even cut away a space for the little loop-thing where you can attach a lanyard. However, all this trimming means you've got some dangerously-thin strips of rubber in various places. This is especially true along the hinge side, where they had to leave room for the game card, the lanyard, and the charger port. There are also some very thin strips across the bottom half of the unit - along the top of the touch screen and above the Slot-2 space. None of them have caused me any problem yet, but I can easily see them getting snagged.

I've had it about a week, and it's pretty comfortable to hold. I particularly like the raised bumps and ridges on the top and bottom. The skin adds enough thickness to prevent accidentally bumping the volume slider - important when you're gaming on the sly.

Silicone isn't supposed to shrink when heated, but I still gave this skin a once-over with the hair dryer trying to get a slightly tighter fit. It's not that loose; I was just aiming for a "perfect" fit.

For five bucks (not $30), it's a decent-enough product. 4 stars.

The case is very attractive. The hinge on the DS has also been damaged so that it wouldn't stay open at an angle. Putting on the skin helped with that, which was nice.

This is a decent case for the ds. We had it on the DS for a while and it stays on well. The only thing I did not like was that in the fold area the little pieces that attach one side to the other kind of hang, but there was no problem with it. You have to take it off to attach guitar hero, but oh well, cant have it all.

Fits well, protects a lot, only "bad" thing is making the DS fatter than it was intended to be, but that's a good thing because that means more protection against unwanted falls.

Well, I couldn't even get this skin on my DSLite without breaking the little strips that cover the hinge. They look like they were shredded by someone else in the factory as I opened them. Well, those thing little strips are not needed, so I continued carefully putting on the DSLite skin over 5 minutes, and no matter how much I try this thing is a shoddy fit and won't work. Everything looks like it's about a single millimeter off in all directions on size. I can't reach the volume slider nor the power button with it on either. The shoulder buttons get poorly covered for some reason and I can't use them with it on. Now it sits in my trash can, the only good spot to keep it.

The only good thing about this skin is the gripping on it. Looks nice in the pictures, feels great when it's on there, but that's the only flat surface on there and slightly fits, with a little hanging over the edge on top and bottom.

All in all don't buy, save the time and money. This costs about $14 with the shipping charges and isn't worth any penny of it's cost.

This fell apart when attempting to put on the DS. Seller should state this is for the lite only.
