For All the Old School Games,

If you played the original SNES system, you will love this item. It works perfectly fine with my emulator, which is Snes9x. Using the old controller brings back great memories. The adapter is very sturdy and does not get hot. I personally did not have any problems with using my save and load hotkeys on my keyboard.
The only thing I might complain about is the cord is a little short. It is no problem for any one who is playing games on their main computer. If you like to hook up you computer with the big TV though, then you might have to skoot up the couch a little bit. Other than that, everything is great. I highly suggest you buy this if you want the old fashion feel.

This adapter and the SNES controller arrived super fast after I ordered them. It works great with Snes9x on my mac. Unfortunately, my friends play with it more than I do.

This very easily could have been a bad unit, I'm unsure, and unless someone else post results I will remain unsure.
The A,B,X,Y,L,R, Start and Select buttons worked perfectly, and it did read the cross pad, just not properly. Instead of registering the cross pad as buttons, it actually registered as a Joystick, not necessarily a problem in and of itself. The problem came in the fact that the right and down buttons were always active. A controller at rest on the X or Y axis regitered 1, left and up registered 0, and actually pushing right or down registered a 3. Traditionally rest should have been 0, left or up should be -1 and right or down should be 1 on the respective axis. As a result this item is unusable on both ZSNES and SNES9x on which I have tried to use it. I concede that I may have gotten a bad one, in which case it's just bad QC. I got mine in a manner that's nonreturnable, so I'm going to open mine up and see if there's any resistors or POTs I can adjust. This is something I as a tech might be able to do, though unlikely based on most modern manufacturing practices, but something the public at large should not have to deal with. ----------------------- Additional Edit added after original post. I've played with this a bit more on other operating systems. It worked great with Linux. The above listed screwed up button pressed values are still there, but operating systems other than OS X seem to deal with it better (well - I still haven't tried Windows). I'm increasing the star rating, but since the X/Y axis readings are still outside the expected norm I'm only increasing it a little. I currently use a Wireless Logitech PS2 control on my Mac using a Gamecube PS2 XBOX Controller to PC USB Adapter 3in1. It doesn't get much better than that, the above reviewed adapter is currently sitting on a shelf, but I may utilize it in the future on a MythTV box or something. Of course I'll probably just stick with PS2 controls and buy more 3in1's.

This is a great product. It works very well on my computer and was easy to install...just plug it in! It is nice because I have an snes emulator on my computer so I can use a regular controller to play those games. I would recomend this product to anyone who likes playing video games on their computer

I have the same problem SirAdam had. The device sends a constant signal of down and/or left. So, for example, if I'm playing Super Mario, you'll see mario constantly running to the left of the screen and theres nothing I can do about it. The product feels like its cheaply made... I imagine my problem is a common defect.

First of all the adapter is made of cheap thin plastic and is easily damaged. i tried using the thing one time and the connection indicator light on it is already broken. but more importantly it doesn't work. it automatically sends signal from the d-pad down and right buttons. at first i thought it may have been my controllers so i picked up two brand new official nintendo controllers. still had the same problem. im going to try another adapter because i personally like the feel of having an original NES controller but at this point id suggest anything other then this product.

Play your Roms with the pad they were meant for.,

Before Lik-Sang tanked, this was one of their most beloved products. With this USB adapter you could convert almost any SNES gamepad into an HID input device. If you really want to play your old SNES and NES roms the way they were meant to be played, this is the thing to get. Unfortunately so far, this type of adapter only comes in the Single Player version (too bad they never made a dual port version, eh?). Keyboard mapping can be done easily through a Freeware program called Joy2Key, so if for some reason the Emu you use doesn't take input directly from the gamepad you can still map the buttons to letters or numbers on the keyboard.
I reeeally wish they had made a "2 PLAYER" version of this.

Despite the listing's title "Super Nintendo Smartjoy SNES PC USB Controller Adapter Converter" I received a "Gtron SNES to USB Converter."
The Gtron converter is of substantially lower quality than an actual SmartJoy adapter. The SNES plug is cheaply manufactured and the device has a short USB cable. Wrong product, this listing is incorrect or a lie.

First off let me start by saying that I feel some of the best games of all time were made on the snes game system. That said I ordered this accessory so I could have a more authentic gaming experience and was excited when it arrived. This allows you to use a snes controller when playing games on your pc or mac. I should point out that most of the snes games are free for the taking if you know where to look ([...] is a good start), and combined with a good emulator to play these games you can enjoy all the finest games of the snes for the small price of this accessory and a controller. I definitely recommend this.
