Excellent way to remember Zelda,

Got this as a gift and I find myself listening to it remembering all the great hits I played.
The CD is good, and I doubt you will regret buying it. The Tracks are listed in a review above, and I was only slightly disappointed that the Ocarina of Time songs are not included with the CD. Never the less, I enjoy it. This CD will be appreciated by any Zelda fan with or without them though.

Worth it or not Worth it... that is the question,
This review is from: Nintendo Sound History Series: Zelda the Music (Audio CD)
The title may be confusing so I'll clarify by doing a compare contrast as to how it is not worth it and it is.
Not Worth it: If you own the Ocarina of Time Soundtrack (any of them, but specifically the japanese one with 82 tracks), the 2 Disc Majora's Mask Soundtrack, the 2 Disk Wind Waker soundtrack, and (if you are lucky) the 2 disc Sound and Drama sound track, you aren't getting all that much. If you have those sound tracks, they are basically exactly the same except there is no loop. Worth it: While you have the other stuff on there that are from soundtracks that are already out there, you have stuff that to my knowledge was never available before. These include: the Zelda 2 tracks, the 4 sword and 4 sword adventures tracks, the FDS start up track, and the remix at the end. One thing to keep in mind, the only track that is remixed is the last track. The other 69 tracks are as you hear them from the game. Now some of the NES tracks will sound different to people that have never heard the original versions of these tracks that were heard on the Famicom Disk System. Bottom line, I say it's worth it. Especially since this is the only way I know of getting a sound track for the 4 sword games and Zelda 2 that is complete.

Nostalgic.... but nothing special,
This review is from: Nintendo Sound History Series: Zelda the Music (Audio CD)
This CD basically has the exact music from the game NOT enhanced whatsoever. There does seem to be one "new" track at the end which is a pretty cool remix. This is good if you want the original sounding songs because they basically just recorded it straight off the games. It includes music from Legend of Zelda I, II, and III, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker.

Great tribute to the legend of zelda,

This cd is a must have for any legend of zelda fan. This collection has songs from every major zelda release from the original up to windwaker and four swords adventures on it. The cd also has a bonus track which is a remix of multiple zelda themes. This is by far the longest track on the cd and is a nice addition to the other tracks found on the album. If you have purchased a games soundtrack before- then you know what to expect. If you have not, I must warn you that most songs are a minute or less in length (they usually only play through one cycle of the song). This can bother some people, however the short length makes the tracks perfect for use as ringtones so keep that in mind as well. Overall, this is a fine cd. Nintendo has done a fine job with this cd and I only hope that they keep producing these soundtracks for fanboys to listen to and enjoy.

Good, but NES songs edited,

Unfortunately, I bought this cd specifically for the NES and Ocarina of Time songs. Sadly, I found that the NES songs were merely bad remixes. The Ocarina of Time songs were intact, but about half of them were not present. The rest of the songs were great though. I would recommend this cd UNLESS you are in it for the NES songs.

the cd has a wide variety of mainly in game sounds with tracks lasting only a couple of seconds. and the staple of Zelda music(at least to me) was under played, the ocorana of time and majora's mask songs link plays weren't even in there. as well as all track info was in Japanese. The audio is of great quality and for players who love the games will find comfort and remembrance while listening.

A great CD to listen to. it is like a sample from most of the console Zelda games. It is a fine addition to any Zelda collection.

A bit too video-gameish,

I loved this music when playing the game. It worked really well. However, a lot of the tracks are too short to really enjoy. Also, with "game over" tracks and stuff, it sounds like I'm listening to a video game. I'd rather just turn the game on and listen to it that way.
