Product Description

Youve got a Nintendo Wii. You have a broadband internet connection on your PC. Youve heard about all the fun things you can do online with your console. Yet when it comes to connecting your Wii to the net, you dont know where to start. With our amazing new LAN Adapter for the Nintendo Wii, you can create a wired high-speed internet connection for your console. Just plug the Adapter into your Wii's USB port, and then connect it to your PCs DSL or Cable modem or your router using a network cable. Its as simple as that! It's USB 2.0, taking advantage of the latest, fastest USB protocols. Because Wii LAN Adapter uses a cable connection, it always offers high-speed, reliable data transfer speeds. Its ideal for places where wireless connectivity isn't possible, perhaps because of thick walls or interference from other products, and it's faster than any WiFi connection. At last, you can enjoy uninterrupted online gaming!

1.0 out of 5 stars Adapter - Dissenting opinion June 19, 2010
Verified Purchase
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I read seven out of seven 5-star reviews of this product, and let that guide my purchasing decision. However, I have not been able to get this to work with an hour of troubleshooting. I have tried direct connection to my hub, direct connection to my cable modem, rebooted everything in different sequences, followed the printed directions in the Nintendo Wii manual, and consulted several different online guides. I have a doctorate in engineering and I program industrial process control systems, yet this thing is not yielding to organized systematic troubleshooting. At this point, I still cannot verify whether the device itself is defective, or I am missing some subtle nuance of the setup.

I avoided other models which had Amazon reviews describing behavior similar to what I am experiencing, and other folks occasionally got over it. I'm only reporting that this particular LAN adapter is not immune to the problem. It is not a Nintendo-produced accessory despite the attachment of "Nintendo Wii" to its description. Delivery from the supplier was fine, but that's small consolation at this time.

Its nothing amazing to look at, but it works fine for the Wii. Was a snap to hook up and allows Netflix streaming with no pauses or lags which is why I bought it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Did not work September 24, 2010

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Took the risk in buying this product and unfortunately after numerous attempts, web searches and attempted suggestions never got the item to work. It claims it works with the Wii but reality is it may or may not. In the end rather than spend more money for an actual Nintendo adapter we opted to purchase a wireless router and once that was set up had no problems hooking the Wii into the system.

Personally I would buy the one that Nintendo makes for the Wii with the idea that at least you can say you were using their adapter if it fails in some way. Wouldn't waste the money on this one on the chance that it may or may not work. Think they should rename it...call it a USB Enalbed Lan Adapter that "MAY" be compatible with the Nintendo Wii...calling it a Nintendo Wii USB Enabled Adapter is a tad misleading.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works great. October 28, 2009

This Wii LAN adapter is cheap in price but it works like a champ. I purchased this product because I had a poor WiFI connection on the second floor of my home. With this adapter my Wii downloads 5x faster than with my poor WiFi connection. Less wait time on firmware downloads and Wii shop purchases. I am extremely happy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wii Adapter September 29, 2010

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I just received this product and tried to use it; the mission was a failure. Before using it I was watching netflix by WiFi routed through my laptop which worked fine. I use the same cord as my laptop which meant it isn't the cord's fault. I am very disappointed because previous reviews were very positive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product. July 8, 2009

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this adapter to help speed up Internet gameplay, and reduce lag. From the time I took it out of the box, it must have taken me no more than 60 seconds to configure it in the Wii Menu, and to get online in Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

It is a little pricey considering shipping, but still a good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works with my Wii U
WiFi is fine but wired is always better. This seemed like cheap build quality and obviously not a certified Nintendo product, but it works perfect on my Wii U
