1.0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2, December 1, 2008

This review is from: Nintendo Wii Wireless Dance Pad (Accessory)
I bought this with the hope of using it with "Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2" but I can't get it to work with it. I was hoping I could use a wireless dance pad because I don't like the idea of a long cable snaking across the floor which someone could trip over and knock down my Wii. I think this is a problem with "Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2" and not with the ICON wireless dance pad because I heard that "Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2" has problems with other third party dance pads. I hope the makers of "Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2" can come up with a fix to make it compatible with more third party dance pads.

The wireless dance pad itself seems well made. It has a rubberized bottom so it shouldn't slip or slide on the floor. It comes with a little wireless receiver that plugs into the GameCube compatible port on the Wii. The dance pad uses 4 AAA batteries. When you turn on the dance pad (using a little switch at the front of the pad), it briefly flashes a red light indicating it is trying to sync with the wireless receiver connected to the Wii. Once it is connected, the red light disappears and the wireless receiver will output a steady green light which is supposed to indicate that it is connected with its dance pad.

Unfortunately, I cannot report on how well it works because it seems to be incompatible with "Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2".

I had the same problem as the previous reviewer. It seems nicely made but unfortunately won't work with Hottest Party 2. Wish I'd known this before I ordered it, but I ordered it at Thanksgiving and didn't try it out until Christmas Eve. What a disappointment.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works but..., May 8, 2009

The sync with the console is easy and the product really works but it doesn't have a kind of "marker" for you to feel with your feet to know where you are stepping into. When you use it, obviously looking at the TV, normally you get lost because you move a lot and, unless you look down to the mat, you won't always know where you are stepping.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dance Breaks, March 13, 2009
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Nintendo Wii Wireless Dance Pad (Accessory)
When it does come to getting down with it and shaking your groove thing for the Nintendo Wii, Dance Dance Revolution has been a great game for anyone who has had felt the need to get away from rocking out too loud with Guitar Hero or Rock Band. But where there always can be a good game, there can be a lackluster accessory that other companies can make for a game, and that sadly is the case with Icon, who has made poor controllers for the Wii before, but for this dance pad for the Dance Dance Revolution games, this definitely is one that does make you want to take a dance break. It doesn't work that well after awhile on the original DDR and DDR2 for the Wii. You honestly are much better off sticking with the one that originaly came with DDR for the Wii instead, and getting another one from Konami directly too for playing with others. I really don't suggest you get this and let the disco ball drop on it.
