I'm questioning the authenticity of this product. I just received it today and immediately noticed some differences from my previous purchases. This product is made in Mexico (and distributed by The Wella Corporation) while my previous purchase was made in USA. Instead of a direct print bottle, it has paper labels. I compared ingredients and a few ingredients were missing from the new purchase. I'm not sure if they are important though, as most of the ingredients are the same and listed in the same order. The labels reference the correct website and provide the correct contact information for Nioxin Customer support for US and Canada.

Opening the bottles; The look and texture are pretty close but the smell is less medicated and more minty.

I have contacted Nioxin Customer support from their website regarding this product purchase and will rate 5 stars if I get back the product is legitimate, I will update this post either way, but at the moment I'm a bit concerned this may be a knock off. I did ask support in my email if there had been a change in ingredients, so they are aware of everything I stated in my review here. Hopefully I get a response back within the next day or two.

We just re-launched our new line of Nioxin products Made in Mexico. The new
labels are sticker form on the bottle. Please be aware we do not sell to ANY
online dealers, we only distribute to salons, so it is best if purchased at a
salon. You can find all of your local salons that carry our product on our salon
locator on the website at [....]

This may indicate that this product is real and the sellers are in fact salon owners. The fact the email said "re-launched our new product lines in Mexico..." may indicate a change in formula. I've also done a bit of research and learned the Proctor and Gamble purchased Nioxin a few years ago and did in fact move the factory from Atlanta, Ga to some place in Mexico.

On a side note, after using the product, I enjoy the much cooler sensation of the scalp therapy (conditioner) than before. I really have no further doubt that this product is in fact legitimate.

I had hair that was thinning due to Diabetes and a friend recommended I try Nioxin. I've been using it for about a year now and can't believe how much fuller my hair is. I can no longer see my scalp. I have recommended it to several family members who have thinning hair.

I did not buy this shampoo because I have thin hair. On the contrary, I have a lot of thick hair. I knew I was about to start a regimen of chemotherapy and radiation and my hair stylist said if I used this product, I would not lose my hair. She was correct. I really like the feeling the conditioner gives your scalp as you feel it work. Thank you for a wonderful product.

I think the Nioxin product is fantastic. I have used the product purchased at a beatuy salon and really loved it. So i wanted to get more and saw this price on Amazon. It was the cheapest and best price online. So i went ahead and bought three sets of it. However i don't think it is the real product. It smells the same but it does not feel the same as the Nioxin I bought at the beauty salon. Even the bottles are slightly different. This one has lots of French writing. I think these are the knock off brands of Nioxin sort of like a fake designer purse. I would not recommend buying Nioxin from these people. I feel I got tricked. In the future I plan on buying Nioxin from another retailer to know I am getting the real thing. The price seemed too good to be true. I really don't think this is the real thing. Just pay the higher price, that way you know you are getting real thing. This does feel good but if you used the real product you will see there is a difference.

I was introduced to the Nioxin line of hair care products several years ago as an excellent product for thinning hair. I have since discovered that the ad copy is absolutely right - Nioxin not only stopped the hair loss, it appears to have filled my hair in where it was already thinning.

I highly recommend Nioxin products for anyone who sees the need to begin (or continue) to treat your hair as a diminishing part of an overall daily routine and treat it very carefully with the best possible products.

I have been using this product for at least 20 years and it is great. It has helped my hair grow after experiencing early hair loss and has kept it on my head for all these year. I still have thin spots but they have filled in to allow me to have more hair styles.

My boyfriend has used this product for a few years and loves it. Won't use anything else. This was also the best I could find anywhere. It was on average $20-30 cheaper to buy online than going to a salon.

The price for these Nioxin products was cheaper on
Amazon than any other site I researched.

I have to admit i wasn't sure about the product, but I am seeing results, even though it takes 2-3 months to see results!

Nioxin 1 increases the thickness of your hair. This helps if you are partially balding. My wife said it makes her hair dresser said it made her hair seem dirty because it attaches to the hair. My barber disagrees. It works for me and that is what counts.
