When I made this purchase, I figured it was most likely too good to be true, but I was curious enough to take the risk. There were no reviews, so with regard to this seller (CAN BUY ME BEAUTY), I had nothing to go on. My situation will offer you a bit of insight on just what can happen to a buyer online and even Amazon.com, sometimes. The adages, "Buyer beware" and "Too good to be true" apply perfectly in this situation.
I bought this product knowing that the packaging was a bit off. I have used Nioxin for quite a while and know what the packaging looks like. I also know that this product is marketed all over the world, so I was hopeful that this product was simply an overseas variation of the Nioxin package. The package I received is identical to the package that is pictured on this product page. The box was a bit crushed, but given how it was sent (bubble envelope), it probably had a pretty rough journey to my mailbox. Since I don't allow myself to run out of Nioxin, I had a, locally bought, #2 product on-hand to compare this product against.
Rather than bore you with the similarities, I will outline only the discrepancies between the two products: 1. Bottles are different sizes, despite both being 200ml. 2. Pump is white on the one I received and is normally black on products I buy from salons, locally. 3. Although both products were dark yellow and of the same viscosity, the product from this seller smelled "sour." The Nioxin I buy locally smells sweet and a little like medicine. 4. My local Nioxin bottle has a trademark R on the word Nioxin and the one from this seller does not. 5. Ingredients are TOTALLY different. 6. My local bottle has a lot number and expiration date dot-printed on it. The seller's product does not.Read more ›
