Discovered a box of this product that I'd bought in 1998 and had not used! Happily, I lighted up one joss stick before getting into bed. While I am not sure about the quality of ingredients (natural vs. synthetic fragrances?) in the Morning Star line, the Jasmine fragrance is still a nice floral, feminine and sweet. It was a favorite for some time. I'm sure that most women will like this incense, but one time, while this was burning, I had a male friend walk in to my home and tell me that it smelled nice.

Discovered a box of this product that I'd bought in 1998 and had not used! Happily, I lighted up one joss stick before getting into bed. The scent was so delicate and pleasant as well as pungent without being overwhelming, that I continued to use it every evening. It not only reminds me of the spiritual dimension in life -- it also dissipates lingering fragrances that are less desirable in one's home, e.g., a recent excreta in the kitty litter box or leftover cooking odors. It also does not produce enormous amounts of the fine dust some other forms of incense release. These sticks are quite trim and inconspicuous, and a little ceramic square holder even comes in the box, so no special gizmo needs to be purchased in order to hold this incense. I had used numerous brands of incense in the last century (!!) and find this one still tops the list. I'm glad it continues being made and readily available to us.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful & Fragrant, March 5, 2008
I am an avid incense burner. Whether it be for meditating or just because I like the fragrance & the mood that burning incense creates. Shipping was timely. I have a hard time finding quality incense in my area for a good price. The quantity is great for the price. Enjoy your mood!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful fragrance, great product, April 26, 2012
This review is from: Nippon Kodo - Morning Star - Jasmine 200 Sticks and Holder (Misc.)
I have used MorningStar's Sandalwood incense in the past and eventually purchased a sample pack to try the other scents. The Jasmine scent was my favorite - it is a light heady scent that sneaks into a room and massages your shoulders with its relaxing aroma.

As a result I'm back - this time to purchase a large box of my favorite scent.

As regards other negative reviews - this incense is pure incense without a stick. You aren't paying for items you don't need - there is virtually no waste in this product and it burns for about a half hour. If properly cared for these will not break.

This will be my third bulk MorningStar incense purchase and I will be back.

Sincerely,
An incense lover

5.0 out of 5 stars Morning Star Incense A Word About Quality, November 17, 2011

This review is from: Nippon Kodo - Morning Star - Jasmine 200 Sticks and Holder (Misc.)
Nippon Kodo is all about quality. From the moment you open the box quality is evident. The inside of the box is moisture absorbent to keep the incense fresh. (place a drop of water on the inside surface and it will swell) Inside the incense sticks are neatly packed. Each stick is precisely manufactured so that they all pack uniformly. As other reviewers have stated, there is no "stick" holding the incense on. There is only pure incense. Who wants to smell any thing other than the pure smell of incense? And speaking of smell, I don't believe I have ever experienced incense as fragrant. You get pure incense, not burning wood. In a little box at the end of the package is a ceramic pad with a hole to hold the incense upright and should be placed in a ceramic dish or tray. As other reviewers pointed out, the sticks are easy to break. If you are a little careful and use the ceramic pad there is no problem. But to top it all off Nippon Kodo places a packing slip that proudly presents all of the fragrants, 18 in all, and the addresses and phone numbers of it's offices in Tokyo and Torrance Ca. WAY COOL

While these arrived quickly, they were poorly packed and broke inside the box. I wouldn't order these again over the Internet.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rip Off, December 23, 2008
This review is from: Nippon Kodo - Morning Star - Jasmine 200 Sticks and Holder (Misc.)
Tom's incense is a rip off because the incense pictured as joss sticks are a mere 4¾-inches long. They have no wooden stick, which is easy to overlook if you are accustomed to quality incense like Nag Champa, and they smell lousy.
This product is not even worth one star.
