5.0 out of 5 stars Great for running errands, comparable to Trek and Specialized commuter bikes..., May 2, 2009
This review is from: Nirve Paul Frank City Bike Men's 3-Speed Cruiser Bike (Sports)
My Specialized Globe bike was kindly removed from my my possession by thieves. Given the expensive parts on that bike (nicer than this one, but much more expensive) I decided not to replace it with the same. Instead I found one of these 'slighty' used in the local bike shop.

I liked the simple 'Dutch' look, especially the color combination and the spring (showing) saddle and once I rode it I decided that it was so simple and had little that could break. It also did not have thiece-magnet brandnames all over it.

The position on this bike is upright and the 3speed is perfect. You do not have to endlessly shift around to find the right setting. Mine is in second gear, uphill or downhill or straight. Perfect setting.

The frame is relatively lightweight and per the description handmade. This bike is not superlight, however, but plenty lightweight to feel pleasant and not become tough on your legs. I have done 24 miles on it in one sweep and also found the saddle to be bum-friendly.

The carrier rack is indeed good for panniers, but mine we're stolen with my other bike so I am getting new ones on here.
Pros:
- Sturdy, no nonsense, commuter bike
- Great looks (awesome design)
- Simple, little to break
- Handmade frame adds conversation value and is overall gorgeous and sturdy
- Good saddle
- Complete with wheel covers, pack and kickstand but you do have to add lights for biking at dusk
- 3 speed, I liked NOT having 21 gears to deal with
- Upright handlebars, great riding position

Cons
- No lights
- Slightly pricey because of handmade frame which is dubious extra value
- Preferred drum brakes for wet braking

Conclusion:
Not as nice a bike as some of the Trek and Specialized but cheaper. I love this bike and would probably not shell out more. This thing will last 20 years or more... if it doesn't get stolen.
