Excellent Photo Book,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nisqually Indian Tribe (WA) (Images of America) (Images of America (Arcadia Publishing)) (Paperback)
I bought this book for my son, who had chosen the Nisqually tribe of Washington state for his school report. The library only had academic studies from back in the 1940's, so I went to Amazon and stumbled across this small volume.
It is primarily a picture book, but it does a very good job of documenting the basic facts about this tribe, which was double crossed by the US Government twice within 50 years. I found the captions to hold enough information to tell the story, and one advantage is that with captions, the facts have to be succinct, and they are. So one gets a good overall picture of the tribe, as well as having those pictures to bring it all to life. Very well done, and recommended for all ages. |
