Just get the OEM LED light.,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had two (standard bulb) AA mag lights that I've had for years, and I decided to do the LED upgrade on both. I usually research things pretty well before purchasing, but this time I did not. I recieved my two LED upgrade kits on time and everything. But, the first one I installed, the little prongs didnt want to go into the plastic base thing correctly, then it wouldn't "seat" correctly, then it got stuck. When I pulled the little thing back out, to try to re-seat it, it broke the plastic deal that is at the top of the mag-lite, therefore ruining the flashlight permanently. I'm actually quite good with delicate little projects and such, and this thing was NOT smooth at all.My SECOND upgrade went more smoothly with the prongs going in, and the plastic part seating. However, the clear plastic outer lens touches the three bulbs and slightly bends outward. This MAY cause the waterproof gasket to not function.. Don't know yet.. AND above all else, you cannot "focus" the beam anymore with this kit. The light is brighter, and I'm sure the batteries last longer now. But, I lost one flashlight, and the ability to focus the beam in the upgrade process. I bought an OEM LED maglight, it's awesome. It focuses, and has power settings, etc. I would NOT recommend this upgrade.

Not very bright, & unable to focus beam.,
I bought an L.E.D. conversion kit from Harbor Freight about a year ago, and it works great with my mini-maglite; bright light, batteries last a LONG time, focusable beam. So when I got another mini-maglite at a garage sale, I decided to convert it as well. Harbor Freight did not have the conversion kit I bought last time, so I bought one of these Nite-Ize conversions. What a disappointment! It's probably about 1/3 the brightness of the one I bought from Harbor Freight, and you cannot focus the beam.

Almost, but not quite...,

Maglite makes an LED flashlight, but it runs about $20. If you have a conventional Maglite, this conversion kit works well but is NOT nearly as bright as the OEM. It's made up of three LEDs instead of one. Three is better than one right?...Nope! It is brighter than the standard bulb, but not as nice as the single LED flashlight Maglite makes. Bottom line...if you don't already own a Maglight with a standard bulb you wish to convert, buy one of the genuine Maglite LED flashlights. Don't bother buying the standard and then add this conversion kit.
