I bought this to use to secure rain vestibule on tents and things of that nature. It is reflective, even in indirect moon-light you can see it pretty well. I was a bit disappointed that it was considerably thinner than para-cord (about half the diameter) but that's my fault for not doing more research before purchasing. However, it is thicker than the Kelty brand reflective cord and also reflects better, IMO. Have not put it to the test under a load yet so I cannot speak to its strength, but it appears sturdy.

Any camper walking in the dark with a flashlight will see this excellent reflective cord. I used it to guy out my tarp on a tenting trip to Yellowstone, but I didn't have enough to use it on all four corners. The one corner where I had to use a good quality non-reflective para cord was enough of a potential hazard I had to rearrange our gear to keep fellow campers from tripping. Weird, I know. But I'm now committed to using this stuff. It basically glows in the dark when moonlight or a flashlight hits it. Highly reflective and effective.

I use this 2.4mm reflective cord for other uses beyond its intended use as a reflective guy line. In this way the 50ft of cord goes a long way and returns more value in uses realized for the price paid.
It makes a good cord for lanyards on pocket-sized working knives (think electrician's folding knife, folding pruning knife, small folding Sierra Saw, Sodbuster, Swiss Army Knife, etc.), helping to pull them from pocket or tool bag/kit as well as making them easier to find, especially if left laying about in the yard as it gets dark. This is also a good cord to use to make ranger beads; I double the cord and use wooden or glow-in-the-dark pony beads in a 9 and 4 arrangement, leaving enough at the doubled loop end to allow looping back through in order to quickly attach to a ring or belt loop.

This cord lights up as if its battery operated. Some might not like it because its not too "stealthy" but when you have a bunch of guys or kids, late nights or drinking is involved, you'll be sure to see this cord when a flashlight or headlamp shines on it. Pretty amazing actually!

Having done the Rockies and the Smokies prior to reflective cord I can appreciate the safety. The all around reflective nature of this product is great. It picks up light and grabs your attention. Now that I'm older and camping less I am finding uses for it in handmade leashes, etc.

This rope is soft, not scratchy like other, cheaper ropes. It feels waxy, almost soapy against your skin. My pride might be hurt after my Craigslist companion left me tied up and helped herself to my wallet and collection of pewter candlesticks, but my wrists and ankles have never felt so baby-soft. The Nite Ize RR-04-50 Reflective Cord exfoliates *and* moisturizes!

How strong is this rope? So strong. You better hope your chair will break, because this rope won't, no matter how much you strain and cry. (Certain habits and proclivities will probably also get broken through this process). Don't bother using your teeth--unless you want to moisturize your gums; seriously; this thing is like coated in aloe. Oh, and the reflective bits? You might think they're just for show, but when you come hobbling out of your house with chunks of chair dangling off of you and clanking like stupid wind chimes, only to collapse in the street, you're going to be glad that oncoming headlights will light you up like a disco ball, glittering with shame.

I purchased the Nite Ize Reflective cord for general purpose use around the house. Sometimes I need something that is thicker than string, but thinner than rope, and this fits the bill.

The package label says it's 2.5 mm thick (and if you tend to think in inches, that's slightly less than 1/8"). I'd say it is generally suited to light and medium applications. If you need to cut it into pieces, you can burn the ends to prevent raveling.

These also fit in the Outdoor Products Sliding Cordlock Replacements 4 Pack that I purchased, although the cordlocks can fit thicker cord than the Nite Ize Reflective Cord.

The cord quality looks good. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase.

PROS:
- Good versatile all-purpose cord
- Burn to seal the cut ends
- Reasonable price

CONS:
- none

Kinda simple - but good stuff. Hard to have a lot to say about reflective cord - but around the tent at night? I have now replaced all my tent guy lines with this stuff... So worth it..
