Trim enough to double as a bookmark, Lumatec's NiteOwl Ultimate Book Light will feed your late-night reading habit. Tuck the feather-shaped Book Light between your pages and slide the flexible, pre-curved neck forward to activate the light, then adjust the round head up or down as you please. The krypton bulb and reflector system fan the soft, white light to illuminate the entire page spread, so you don't have to follow the beam across the sentences as you do with book lights of lesser quality. You won't miss a word with the NiteOwl, but you also won't disturb those around you, whether you're in the car, working hard at a late-night study session, or snuggled up in bed with the latest thriller. One caution: the Book Light doesn't stay tucked as firmly between the pages of mass-market-size paperbacks as it does with larger paperbacks and hardcover editions. Made of sturdy black plastic, this slim light requires two AA batteries for operation.

I have bought two of these lights, and both were disappointments. In one of them the light bulb burnt out or broke within the first week, and in the other the light intensity kept flickering from bright to very dim; in both cases the light bobbed and shook far too much for a relaxed and effortless reading experience. What with one or another of these very annoying distractions, I've never managed to make my way through even one chapter using this method. A cute design and a lovely idea, but a poor product.

This purchase was a complete waste of money! It was cumbersome to hold the light and my book at the same time, because the light doesn't clip onto the book. The head of the light bobs endlessly causing a flickering effect, which really causes eye fatigue. If I could give it 0 stars I would. It isn't worth a dime! I have since bought an "itty bitty" Booklight and it far outshines this cheap imitation!

I bought one of these when my old light died and was very disapointed. It ripped several of my books and didn't light very well. Plus getting the battery case open and closed takes is almost impossible. I recomend people do not buy these. They're not worth the trouble and batteries.
