This is a great client; maintains all necessary functionality, has plenty of options for customization of sync and usage. Have owned the full version since my G1, and a HUGE improvement over the built-in Exchange-compatible mail app.

Unfortunately, the license is for only ONE device, unlike every other Android app EVER. Meaning if you have an Android phone and tablet, you can only use this on one or the other. Activating it on the other de-registers the first device into 'expired mode' and loses all of your settings/preferences. The only way to use this on more than one device is to buy a manual-enter license key direct from Nitrodesk's website, for each additional device.

Incredibly annoying (to the point of subtracting two stars!) to find this out, as I was quite excited to try out the tablet-optimized mode... only to find out that I had LOST everything on my phone due to their particular DRM implementation invalidating it as a licensed device. Especially annoying as I own four Android devices, and had expected to be able to utilize any of them at my convenience... which definitely is NOT worth the cost of three more licenses, and the hassle of tracking and entering the auth codes for each of the other devices any time I need to reinstall the app.

If you are looking for an email client that will give you functionality of Outlook on your phone Touchdown is it! I have tried other clients like Moxier and others and simply none of them can match Touchdowns functionality. It syncs emails with folders, contacts, calender and tasks. What sets Touchdown appart from the rest is its ability to sync all your email for starters, not just 30 days. The biggest feature for me though is its search abilities. It will search all your emails, calendar, contacts and tasks. That feature alone makes it a great desktop alternative for me because I am always doing those searches. Now I can treat the phone just like my desktop email. It truely allows me able to use Outlook to its fulliest and have that ability on the go!!!! I put off buying this for about 6 months, because I kept trying to see if there was something better. Needless to say I am using Touchdown full time now.

The most impressive part of trying this app was how ridiculously easy it was to setup with the exchange server. i entered my email addr and pw, and autoconfig took care of the rest. Nicely done!

However, I found that once installed, startup (e.g. launching the app to check my calendar) and syncing were a little slow. Also, the UI could use some polish. It doesn't feel Android-esque... more like something ported over from an old Treo.

There is a healthy selection of preference settings, which give you a lot of control over how items are synced and how you are alerted. This is a MUCH more complete implementation of an Exchange client than the stock app which came with my Droid. I'm very tempted to buy it now while its on sale, but I think I'm going to wait for the next version.
