I love efficiency. Previously, I've been using Dr Bronners peppermint as a bodywash, shampoo and shaving (works fantastic for shaving, after about a week of your skin adjusting to it). The good Doctor was pretty decent, but the Nivea Active 3 intrigued me. God knows, the shower and bathroom are littered with Nivea products for The Girl... and she has a skin care regime that puts a 3rd degree burn victim to shame, so she knows what works. Plus, it is less expensive than the Dr Bronners and is made in Germany (you know, the Germans make good stuff).

First off - it smells quite nice. Not too overpowering, not flowery, but not some douchey overly masculine scent (i.e. not like Axe). Second - it feels really nice. Most soaps have a sort of astringent quality that leaves rinsed flesh feel sort of dry. Dr Bronners makes you feel like the desert where nuclear weapon tests are conducted (vis-a-vis moisture). Freshly Active 3d skin feels smooth and healthy. Good stuff.

As a shampoo - same schtick. The hair (what little of it I have) is very clean, but doesn't have the astringent feel produced by most shampoos.

As a shaving cream, it is pretty good. Look - it isn't the best shaving substance of all time, but it is good enough that it is my daily shaving cream because the convenience factor is just SO high. For shaving, it is very effective and comfortable, but I find myself having to throw on an extra lather and taking one last quick pass to get the close shave I seem to like so much.

Pros:
- Subtle, great smell.
- Very clean feeling, without the dry astrigency of most soaps/body washes.
- Extremely effective cleaning.
- Toyota Prius levels of efficiency.

Could Improve:
- Shaving. Better than 80% of shaving creams. Not the very best (i.e. not soap and a boar's hair brush).

Perfect For:
- People who really love efficiency.
- Men who have had their showers taken over by girls.
- Travel. Phenomenal travel product!

Not Perfect For:
- Metrosexual skin care fetishists. Call Keihl's.

This all-in-one wash is great. Saves a lot of time in the shower, all I have to do is get a little in my palm and I can clean my whole body including my hair, and I'm good to go. It leaves a nice smooth feeling on the skin and does a great job with the hair as well. Only negative is that for shaving this is ok, I still prefer an actual shaving gel.

There are so many products just like Nivea For Men Active3 Body Wash for Body, Hair & Shave, 16.9-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 3) but this one claims to go even a step further, it is also a shaving cream. After a while it makes a person wonder what is really going on? Shampoo for the hair, soap for the body and shaving cream to boot? I tried it in each of its advertised capacities and somehow it seemed to work but in the end I decided to use mostly as a body soap since it was easy to use since it develops an effortless nice cleaning lather. As a shampoo I guess occasionally might do the job but I am still conditioned to use a full fledged shampoo for most of the time. As a Shave Cream I am still partial to Edge products but must admit I was able to shave when I tried it. I guess that just to know it can do all three is its real attraction. Chrisito, who is 24 and as modern as they come, liked it and approved of it with much more enthusiasm than myself so to him the product went. Still, congratulations for the concept. Now I am waiting for one that can do 4 things. Kind of like the sequel with the added plus. 4 Stars!

It works, keeps me clean. Doesn't smell girly, foams up well. Can't ask for too much more from a body wash...

Love the smell of this body wash. Still smells great this throughout the day. As a shampoo, I am not too picky so I can't say if its great or not. I previously used a store brand body wash and would shave my body with that. This body wash/shampoo/shave lathers great and is better than a normal body wash for shaving. Overall, very efficient and a great product. Added bonus of subscribe and save discount and one less thing I have to worry to get.

It works well as a body wash, shampoo and, to a lesser degree, as a shave lotion. Perfect for travel. Smells decent...not mediciney, herbal or floral. Hair is clean and managable and it definitely washes the grime off the rest of me. With a fresh blade does a decent job as a shave lubricant (spouses Satin Care works better). Skin feels clean and smooth after shaving. Product is competitively priced expecially considering that it doesn't take much.

I think all has been said about this product already, but I just want to reiterate how great it is for A) guys that love efficiency and B) guys who travel alot and don't want to carry 3 different products with them.

The texture is a little bit thicker than normal shampoo and body wash, but that's so you have shave with it also. Nice lather which washes off easily.

I thought Nivea stopped producing this product. I was a little panicked. This is a great product, I shave my head everyday and it works great to have an all-in-one solution. I am considering ordering a case of them, just in case (no pun intended).

In the past there have been products that claimed to do everything for man's grooming save put paste on his toothbrush and cure unibrow. Active3 claims to do three things and does them all to perfection. As body wash it's terrific, and I enhance that by using scrubbers that can be purchased at car supply stores. The long, nap really holds the liquid and creates a better lather. The scent is great, not overwhelming but suggesting cleanliness. As to a shaving medium, I'm the guy who shaves everything from my neck up and have for some time. It produces a smooth shave with no razor drag (I use a Gillette that has a vibrating blade which really helps.) If you've never shaved your head, this would be the product to use should you wish to. It rinses cleanly with no residue on both face and head, a problem other, similar products have. Don't be discouraged by the lack of foam, this is meant to be a blade assistant rather than a guide to where you've shaved.

After shaving I use Nivea After Shave Balm, again on my face and head. It's both refreshing and tightens my pores as well as leaving a soft skin effect. (For those of you who shine your heads, after this step would be the time to do that.)

About shampooing. Just to see how well it did, I shampooed those parts of my body that had fur thick enough to check the quality of shampoo and I'm pleased to report it did very well. One of my complaints about shampoos is that they don't always rinse cleanly but Active 3 does. As with several others, this is a great product for those who travel. I'm careful to always place contains that might flex in pressurized situation in a seal-able plastic bag to preserve the clothes around it.

It's a great product that's worth the money they charge.

This all in one nivea product is great. Scent is sweet and not overpowering. Very convenient for travelling. Not easy to find at stores so well worth the cost and shipping!
