This is no ordinary chap stick with SPF 4, quick absorption into the lips, jojoba oil, and shea butter. My lips feel smooth, and I can go back into the sun again.
This moisture care is amazing and should be in everyone's bag, purse, desk, and car.
It absorbed very well and didn't give that caked on gloss feeling. My lip liner on top of it actually stayed and didn't rub off of it like some lip moisturizers.
I would recommend this product.
Just got it and applied a few times. No sticky, no waxy, no taste or smell...excellent! It glides on smoothly, like a thin oil would, leaves a shine and makes my lips slick but not heavy or thickly coated. Just touched my lips with my finger and rubbed them - no oily feel and it absorbed right in, can snap fingers right away...excellent! I think I will like this lip care, it was what I was looking for...so far so good.
~Lip Trick to exfoliate: Dip your finger in Olive oil and rub on your lips, then dip your finger into granulated sugar and rub your lips with this mixture whenever they are dry and peeling. I do this as needed and have never had dry, cracked lips. You can also mix a larger amount in a screw-top jar and use on your face or body before your shower for an inexpensive body-scrub.~
This product is different in the ingredients it uses, and in the way it works. Here are some of the differences:
It does not offer much sun protection. The package I got has no mention of an SPF, though the Amazon page says SPF4, which is not much. The over-the-counter pharmacy brand has a higher SPF.
It is less waxy, a bit more oily. As such, it goes on easier, and soaks in more readily. It probably needs to be applied more often for the same reason.
It gives my lips a very mild but odd slightly irritated sensation, almost like it itches or burns... but as I said, this is very mild.
I have a feeling that when I have really dry lips, this product will probably provide faster relief, but also require applying more often. Instead of simply sitting on top of the lips (which does offer protection, but only moisturizes by trapping your own moisture), it soaks in more.
Unfortunately, at the time I first tried it, I really don't need it much... because I am not traveling, and because we are having an unusually wet summer, with humid, nearly tropical air... which is very good for one's lips, obviating the need for a lip balm.
I will update this review when I have a chance to use it during a time of very dry lips. For now, it gets a rating of 3, because of the very slight irritation I notice, the low SPF factor, and that it does not seem obviously better than my usual product choices.
UPDATE: I have been using it regularly this week (October), as the dry weather makesit useful now. It is quick and effective on my dry lips.Read more ›
One thing we noticed is the Nivea lip care product is more "food proof" than other products. It'll probably last through dinner and you won't need to reapply it every time you sip your drink.
I would rate this at the top of my list. It's got a buttery softness without leaving you sticky or gooey lips. It doesn't have a weird taste and your lips won't feel dry again an hour later. I swear some lip balms have ingredients in them that make your lips more dry than before you tried them! Winter is approaching, stock up on this!

This is the best ChapStick I have ever owned, its not think and doesn't cake on like other ChapStick's. It stays on and keeps my lips smooth, pain free, and moisturized. Read morePublished 21 days ago by Amazon Customer
This does nothing for my lips. I apply it and it simply sits on top of my lips and does not actually do anything to moisturize them. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Lifelong Learner
One of the only lip ingredients I use. I absolutely love this Chapstick. Leaves my lips moisturized and it's a great price. Always keep a few of these around the house!Published 2 months ago by Caitlyn
Soft and effective. Hard to find in stores. I much prefer this one to the SPF 15 sunscreen type which has a slightly bitter aftertaste.Published 3 months ago by Inspector Gadgette
Very soothing for chapped lips. Also, thicker than Chapstick, so longer lasting.Published 9 months ago by Shelly Hawkins
