A Different Way of Looking At Money, Wealth And Your Business,
By
This review is from: No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs (Paperback)
This book is one of the best books Dan has ever written. I bought it last week from Amazon - stopped every thing I was doing and read it cover to cover in 2 days straight. And I will tell you that if you own your own business; if you are an entrepreneur living anywhere in the world and want to change your business and your net profit numbers - this book is an essential read.
This book is about changing the way you look at money .I was born and raised in a poor household. A lot of crap is already in my head about money, hard work and how hard it is to make money. Dan has shown clearly in his blunt realistic manner the way you need to change the way you think about money. All the `How To' books are not going to work for you if you as a business owner have money issues in your head. It affects pricing, the way you charge your customers, the products you offer - everything that affects your bottom line. Most entrepreneurs rather cut their right finger off than to raise prices. Sadly most of the time - as Dan explains - that has nothing to do with the customers and more with what is going on between the ears in the entrepreneur head. I bought 50 copies of this book - sending it to all my top clients with a recommendation that this is probably the ONLY book they need to read this year. The book also comes with an audio CD with the highlights of his Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs Seminar, which is incidentally one of the best seminars that I have listened to. Must read! One a side note; after discovering Dan Kennedy by accident 18 months ago, I bought every single thing he had to offer; read every book he has ever written, went to every single seminar he has done since and implemented, implemented and implemented what he teaches. The results: Dan's advice has made 2005 the best year my company ever had - 2006 looks even better. I am in Michigan where we are supposed to be in "bad economy" - I don't know the meaning of the word anymore - neither the meaning of the word "fear". Having termendous fun running my business on my own terms. 100% because of the No B.S Advice learned from Dan Kennedy books and products.

Mixed Messages from a Mixed Messenger,
By
This review is from: No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs (Paperback)
You've probably heard people discuss Dan Kennedy before, especially in regard to "sorting through" his books to "get to the good stuff." I can attest to that after reading this book.
His own copy on the back of this book labels him as "provocative, irreverent and sarcastic"...and there's some wisdom to the life principal of "all things in moderation." The free-wheeling, shoot-from-the-hip guy who likes to punctuate his points with things like "Bubba" can wear a little thin, especially on days where you want insight or information and aren't particularly interested in getting it with a side of "provocative, irreverent and sarcastic." And yes, just like Joe Vitale (who wrote the introduction to another one of Kennedy's books), you'd better be prepared for a major, unrelenting, consistent dose of self-promotion throughout the book. And therein lies another thing that might drive you crazy about Kennedy. He liberally quotes Napoleon Hill and others of his esteem, but the truth is that he is also a kindred spirit of Vitale and quotes Gene Simmons from KISS, two guys...as successful as they might be in terms of their bank accounts...who redefine the notion of "crass." That said, the book breaks down into the same three categories that many similar works are built on: 1). Things you probably already know, except you haven't taken action on them for any number of reasons 2). Things that you've chosen to accept as the truth and "the way things are," which may or may not be accurate and COULD be the thing (or things) holding you back 3). Kennedy's own spin on what's real versus what is simply ridiculous and / or delusional thinking In the Introduction, Kennedy writes "There are very practical things to do to put yourself in the right position, to set in motion the forces that attract wealth." He then states "In total, this is all about making adjustments to the way you think and act that make it easier to attract all the wealth you want, faster and easier than you can imaging." You see, that's Dan's hook. If you're thumbing through the book in your local bookstore or reading excerpts online, you might think "Oh, YEAH. Sign me UP." But when you sit down and read the book front to back (and listen to the "Wealth Attraction Seminar" CD that comes with the book ("worth $2000," claims the back cover copy), you get some mixed messages and perhaps a bit of contempt for the audience as well. The CD rambles on a bit. In classic "glass half full, glass half empty" fashion, you may listen to the CD and feel that Kennedy is loose and spontaneous, or you may feel that he's unfocused and under-prepared. I'm not sure which it is, It doesn't sound like a $2000 seminar...I can tell you that much. The reason I've given the review three stars is that there is some very pragmatic, real-world, valuable information between these covers. I especially agree with the two key "wealth inhibition" points Kennedy makes about salespeople on page 9. His assertion that "YCDBSOYA" (you're going to have to buy the book to decipher that one) is also astute. The "Do Something" chapter is the kind of kick in the pants that Larry the self-proclaimed "Pit Bull of Personal Development" Winget has built a career on, except you get a skilled paraphrasing of everything Winget's ever offered in a succinct 11 pages). He asserts that if you have hangups about sales and marketing, you might as well kiss the whole idea of wealth attraction goodbye. I agree with him completely. I know so-called "entrepreneurs" who view sales and marketing as a coiled and hissing snake in the grass and ask myself "What makes these people think that they'll ever be successful?" Kennedy has a few snide asides about people who worry about what others think of them while they are pursuing success, and once again, he's right...it's just the snide thing. The brass ring, the end result, can;t be that you want to end up talking and writing and carrying yourself like Dan Kennedy or Joe Vitale or Gene Simmons...unless, of course, that is exatly what you want, and if it is, Bubba, this book is for you. Kennedy's "Wealth Magnet" #23 is "Behavioral Congruency," but the topic is so much more powerfully discussed in Ron Willingham's The Inner Game of Selling: Mastering the Hidden Forces that Determine Your Success that it felt somewhat trivial and under-cooked here. In the final "Wealth Magnet" before the "Bonus Chapters," Kennedy discusses "Courage" and the need to "put yourself out there." A sidebar proclaims "Wealth rarely rewards wimps." Ralph Waldo Emerson probably said it better in his famous quote, "God will not have his work made manifest by cowards." Kennedy's right. You can't have guilt or abundance issues or the feeling that if you're prosperous, it's because someone else is suffering. You can't be lazy, you can't be a procrastinator, you can't have doubts, you can't wait for others to give you their approval, you just can't. Period. Or you can, and in doing so, give up the notion of being wealthy, whether it's in monetary terms or the rare ability to look in the mirror and know that you didn't sell yourself out. It's not the message, it's the messenger. There are just some days in which I'm not in the mood for a guy like Dan Kennedy. On other days, I'm feeling a little arrogant and restless and impatient myself and can dive in without distraction. I believe that you'll get $12.95 worth of wisdom from this book. It may be the first and only Dan Kennedy book you purchase. You may become a fan and start writing 5 star reviews of each of his books as you purchase them. But if this book contains the one idea, the one timely kick in the pants you need to start going after what you want in earnest, you should consider buying it. Now. There's a universal message here which fully eclipses the messenger.

Like Watching a Great Movie with Timeless Advice.... Except,
By
This review is from: No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs (Paperback)
If I had to recommend my top five favorite books, this one would have to be on the list. As usual, Dan delivers more than you bargain for in his "No BS" style. I would highly recommend the book to everyone who is in business or thinking about starting a business. However... stop reading when you get to the back of the book where Dan allowed some of his joint venture partners to write their commercials for their services or products. This really cheapened the book and kept it from getting 5 stars.
Reading the book like watching a great movie which reveals the secrets to success on television then all the sudden some stupid commercial comes on and spoils the whole mood of the show.

Bottom Line Advice...Well worth a read.,
By
This review is from: No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs (Paperback)
This book was recommended to me by a colleague. We are both in the marketing field and were having a frank conversation about how we struture relationships with clients. I read it during a car trip to California last weekend (don't worry - my husband was driving!). I giggled nervously several times at the unabashed "no b.s." honesty and confidence behind Dan Kennedy's advice. I personally have been guilty of many of the mistakes Dan speaks of, such as not placing a high enough value on my services. I heard myself repeating favorite phrases from the book to myself that apply to me. I've already told some fellow entrepreneurs about the book, and I just ordered Dan's time management book for myself.

Beyond the Myth of Attraction,
By Don Sanders (Houston, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs (Paperback)
Let's get the basics out of the way. (1) This book is full of self-promotion; (2) Kennedy can be offensive, irritating and arrogant;(3) Kennedy has helped create more than 100 millionaires and knows whereof he speaks in terms of wealth creation; (4)some or all of this information can be found in other books--but you just don't find it condensed and targeted like this. There is a lot of hype out there today about "focusing on a goal" and it somehow magically will be drawn to you. Kennedy says that defining and focusing on a goal is critical, but if you want to attract wealth into your life, you must consider your beliefs about wealth, your strategies to bring wealth into your life and your behaviors in implementing those strategies. So, think beliefs, behaviors and strategies. Most of us have unconscious beliefs about money (it is limited, it has to be hard earned) that get in our way of making it, and most of us don't have behavior congruent with our desire to attract wealth--that is, congruent with the behavior of those who have already attracted wealth. The book is really only 167 pages--26 "Wealth Magnets."(That's really all you need to read and re-read.) The rest is info from successful entrepreneurs and Kennedy's recommended resources. Read it or not, Kennedy will say he doesn't care. He has put the information into the universe and now its up to you. Thirteen bucks and a couple hours of your time might show you something you don't know. To be honest, Kennedy frequently ticks me off with his over the top no BS attitude, but you cannot argue with his results--or his comprehensive, no nonsense approach to wealth attraction. One final thought. The book is only 13 bucks because it is partially a marketing mechanism--he wants you as a customer so the book is cheap knowing the long term value of anyone who joins his Kennedy Inner Circle. But that is a marketing lesson and a wealth creation strategy, isn't it?

Good, Interesting ... I'd really say three and a half stars,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs (Paperback)
This is my first Dan Kennedy book and I thought it a slightly better than the average book in the "wealth attraction" genre.
The chapters are short, sweet and to the point. There is a lot in the book that makes sense or, at least, resonated with me true or plausible. As with most books about wealth attraction, Dan Kennedy uses a lot of anecdotes about people who have "made it" by using the methods described in the book. He also offers advice that contradicts the conventioanl wisdom which I found refreshing. It is obvious that he's read the genre and knows what advice is in other books. So, in some cases, he flat out says their stuff doesn't work and his stuff does. Fos some reason, that approach appealed to me. Of course, the book is sprinkled liberally throughout with directions to go to his various websites to connect with his free newsletter or not-so-free programs and books. There are also the requisite stories in the back of the book by his proteges and buddies sharing how they became millionaires and, oh yeah, you can become one, too, if you connect with thier websites and programs. I like Dan's writing style and a lot of his advice. A lot has been written about before so it's not a 5 star but definitely worth the price of the book.

THIS Is How You Obtain Wealth,
By
This review is from: No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs (Paperback)
The new year brought two new books by direct marketing master Dan Kennedy. Dan Kennedy is the author of famous (among direct marketers) "No B.S. Marketing Letter," a monthly newsletter designed to help marketers market better. Kennedy is known for his blunt, no-holds-barred approach in his marketing discussions. Thus, his writing is concise and to the point. His two new offerings are no different: No B.S. Direct Marketing and No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs pick up right where the last three books by Kennedy in this series left off. (The other three books are No B.S. Sales Success, No B.S. Time Management for Entrepreneurs, and No B.S. Business Success; all five are well worth owning.)
Kennedy takes a slightly different approach in these two books than he did in his previous three. In these two, he only writes about one-third to one-half of the book. The remainder of each book is filled out with related chapters from members of Kennedy's marketing "Inner Circle," those who subscribe to his newsletter and his personal coaching groups, and experience a great degree of monetary success in their businesses as a direct result of Kennedy's help and insights. (He also includes an audio CD in each book that enhances and develops the book's contents.) For example, in No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs, Kennedy writes Section I, which contains twenty-six "wealth magnets." Each wealth magnet is one concept that an entrepreneur must learn, understand, or master in order to attract wealth. These magnets include such concepts as not feeling guilty about acquiring wealth, realizing that wealth is "out there" and you can obtain it, and thinking in terms of building long-term equity, not just short-term income. Section II of the book is comprised of content from "guest experts" who show how they applied the wealth magnets and grew wealthy because of it. Many of these chapters are focused on real estate investing; I would have preferred a broader range of experts, especially in various direct-marketing businesses, because Kennedy is noted for his expertise in direct-marketing. Similarly, No B.S. Direct Marketing is composed of two main sections, the first written by Kennedy and the second by another grouping of experts. In Kennedy's section, he tackles the foundation of direct marketing, which consists of a series of ten rules, set up to read as the Ten Commandments of direct marketing. Such rules include There Will Be Tracking and Measurement and There Will Be Follow-Up, among others. The second part of this foundation is the "results triangle", consisting of the interplay between message, media, and markets, and how they all tie together. Section II of this book features contributions from guest experts, but differs from Wealth Attraction in that more business sectors are covered. Specifically, the focus in this section is how retail, restaurant, professional services, sales, and service businesses have used direct marketing to enhance their businesses by growing their customer base and their profit margins. Two final chapters discuss how great marketers set up and use systems and hold on to their customers through regular and intentional contact (the 52X Contact secret). Each book concludes with a resources section (Section III) that includes information relevant to the businesses featured in the books, as well as several special offers from Dan himself, including a free, three-month trial offer for Dan's No B.S. Marketing Letter. (In the interests of disclosure, I am a subscriber of this letter, and have nothing but good things to report about it.) For those who seek wealth, the programs laid out by Dan Kennedy in these two books will provide you with an excellent starting point for your journey, as well as a map to guide your way, two combinations not often found in the same books.

Adjust your attitude and Take Action !!!,
This review is from: No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs (Paperback)
This book is all about the way you think.
Money, actions that you take, people that you hang around with are all discussed. It's not one of those "If you dream or constantly think about it then it will happen" type of books. I started putting into practice some of the ideas Dan discusses even before I finished the book and immediately saw results. A lot of the ideas I had known in the back of my mind but reading them coaxed me into taking action on them and not just thinking about them. You know a book is good when it helps you before you get through reading it. Some of the highlights are * Don't wait till you get all your ducks in a row..start NOW, you can make course corrections as you progress and learn. *Make sure you do at least one thing a day to keep the pipeline of future income filled. * Don't just think in terms of daily transactions but also the value of future business. * Get rid of negative people that hang around you. Dan gives them a great label of Wealth Blockers. * Hope is not a strategy... is this not one of the truest things that you have ever heard and yet we all know people that live with no real plans of how to achieve success. I could go on but if you combine this book with No B.S. Time Management for Entrepreneurs (No B.S. Series) you will have a one-two punch that will put you miles ahead of the competition. All of Dan's no B.S, books are not of the same level of quality, but I think this is the best one of the bunch. If you have read this far then you need to take action. Buy this book along with Dan's Time Management and put what they teach into practice. Kennedy's Time Management will show you how to get rid of the Time Vampires so that you can put the business advice he dispenses in this book to use. Just knowing stuff is useless unless you put it to use. There is a phrase that NLP people will recognize called congruence... your actions and thoughts must be aligned to produce results. By reading the various reviews you have shown that you are interested in achieving success as an entrepreneur. Now you must make your actions match your thoughts and get the info that is contained in this book. Its cost is much less than a single night out and it will alter the way you act and think for the rest of your life. that's a pretty good bargain by any measure.

This review is from: No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs (Paperback)
This book is really no b.s. Kennedy tells it like it is, attacks popular self-help myths and gives a simple but powerfull advice on how to stop "wealth inhibition" (he brilliantly shows that almost everybody soffers from it).
I've read the book 3 times and now my view on the world is different and I see a lot of opportunities of easily multiplying my already prosperous business that I didn't see before. One of the most useful chapter for me was about "domino opportunity" (you'll see, it gives a whole new perspective on your business or career strategy). Yes, there's a whole section of advertising from Dan's friends in this book, but I don't really see a problem here. I didn't read it and you can read, if you are interested, or skip it just like me. In short: read it, if you like Donald Trump Books, Randy Gage books, Ayn Rand books. It is really a rare kind of book in the market full of unrealistic books making success look too romantic OR too hard-work, will power and discipline based. Read if you want truth, even it is not very popular.

I love Dan Kennedy's outspoken way of delivering information. I grew up working class and had a lot of issues standing in my way of becoming rich - mostly issues in my own mind. Dan will show you how to make those subtle and not so subtle shifts in the way you think so that your goals will be easier to achieve. Highly recommended. |
