4.0 out of 5 stars A great mix of music
This is Keiko's 3rd release. I think it is better than her first two. There are some wonderful songs on it, and anyone wishing to obtain lots of her music should definitely buy this CD. I rate it about in the middle group of all of her CDs. I gave it 4 stars, but would like to give it 4 1/2 stars if available. For those only experimenting with her music, half of the...

2.0 out of 5 stars Overproduced
I became an instant Keiko Matsui fan when I saw her perform on a Session at West 54th Street on public television. Soon after, I purchased this CD; after all, four reviewers give it 5 stars. Big mistake. This CD sounds like Kenny G with a better keyboard artist. OK if you like Kenny G. I don't. Can anyone point me to a Keiko Matsui CD that strips away all the...

For those only experimenting with her music, half of the songs on the CD, "The Keiko Matsui Collection" are from "No Borders". So try buying "Collection" to get a sample of the best songs from "Borders".

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful music that touches a soul, July 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: No Borders (Audio CD)
This album as a whole tells you a story. It starts with pleasant, jazzy tunes, and moves to spiritual tunes with some classical elements. Keys are the 4th tune "mover" and the 8th tune "kappa". These beautiful and uplifting tunes make good transitions.

All songs are flawlessly composed and ordered. Trivia note: look for Nathan East and Eric Marienthal with "light in the rain", Greg Walker with "mover", and Grant Geissman with "three silhouettes".

I can just sit down and listen to this CD for hours on end! In the Mist and Kappa Water Elf are definatly my favorites and the most moving music I've listened to. Very nice Japanese feel!

4.0 out of 5 stars Keiko Matsui: No Borders, July 5, 2008

First let me apologize, as I won't rate anything with a perfect five stars. But to rate it at four stars is saying something. I really like Keiko's music. It is an easy listening mix of fusion and jazz. It is great to listen to when I want to unwind during a hectic day. I would recommend it to everyone who is tired of the funk that is being produced today that others call music. Matter of fact, I have recommended it to others and they have bought Keiko's music for themselves as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS GREAT!!, June 20, 1999

I heard Keiko's music just by chance. I have never heard such a beautiful music!! It's moving, grooving, and loving. It's not only rhythmic, melodic, enigmatic, and dynamic, but also peaceful and soulful. This is without a doubt my favorite CD!

I love the track "Kappa" (water elf) it reminds me of some chinese fairy tales movies. Too bad that in Malaysia there's hardly any promotion of her albulms like Kenny G.

This is the first Keiko Matsui cd that I've purchased. She is an incredible artist and so are the other musicians who collaborated on this cd.

I got this CD for a friend as a gift. She likes it but not too crazy about it. Brain Forst, try Full Moon and the Shrine. It's beautiful.
