5.0 out of 5 stars First Year for Real Tree
We finally chose to get a real Christmas tree this year! About three weeks ago we purchased a fresh-cut Fir from a local grower here in Ohio and we couldn't be more pleased with the aroma and how easy it was to set-up. Prior to the set-up of our tree, we treated it with No-Burn Christmas Tree Fire Gard following the directions on the bottle and applied it outdoors on...

1.0 out of 5 stars Messy and It Killed Our Beautiful Tree!
My husband purchased No-Burn thinking we would be extra cautious this year since we always get a real Christmas tree and it sits in the same room as our wood pellet stove. We buy the same variety of tree from the same Christmas tree farm every year. It was a beautiful, freshly cut tree the day it came into the house. We immediately trimmed the trunk and set it in the...

5.0 out of 5 stars First Year for Real Tree, December 16, 2009
This review is from: No-Burn 1019 Christmas Tree Fire Gard (Tools & Home Improvement)
We finally chose to get a real Christmas tree this year! About three weeks ago we purchased a fresh-cut Fir from a local grower here in Ohio and we couldn't be more pleased with the aroma and how easy it was to set-up. Prior to the set-up of our tree, we treated it with No-Burn Christmas Tree Fire Gard following the directions on the bottle and applied it outdoors on our back patio. We let the tree remain outside for about an hour and then brought it inside, and we were pleasantly surprised that the tree looked more like a Blue Spruce than a Fir because the treatment had left a frosty coat on the needles. Upon treating our 7.5 foot tree, as directed, the remaining product was put into the tree stand with water.

Having purchased the product from another source and with it being so close to Christmas, we're very satisfied with the results and have chosen to purchase a bottle from Amazon for my sister and her family.

We're glad we purchased a real tree and that No-Burn's spray was available to us this year for Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Peace of Mind, December 17, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: No-Burn 1019 Christmas Tree Fire Gard (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have used this product for the past 3 years with no problems what-so-ever. It was a pleasure to find it available from Amazon this year. Following the directions on the bottle, I found that my tree didn't lose any more needles than normal. The workers where I bought my tree highly stressed keeping the tree well-watered to avoid dryness and keep the tree alive through the holiday. I have since done research online, and I found that cut trees bought retail have been cut at least 5 - 6 weeks prior. To me, this proves need for proper fire protection and hydration. This product not only works well, but it brings peace of mind to our family.

I would recommend and do recommend this product to those I know with live trees.

1.0 out of 5 stars Messy and It Killed Our Beautiful Tree!, December 12, 2009

My husband purchased No-Burn thinking we would be extra cautious this year since we always get a real Christmas tree and it sits in the same room as our wood pellet stove. We buy the same variety of tree from the same Christmas tree farm every year. It was a beautiful, freshly cut tree the day it came into the house. We immediately trimmed the trunk and set it in the stand with lots of water. The following day, my husband sprayed the tree with No-Burn as directed and as directed put what was left of the liquid into the tree stand. Within 2 days the water in the reservoir, even after being refilled the following day, was completely dried up. the needles came off with a touch of a finger and fell to the floor. It was mess. My husband shook all the loose needles off, recut the trunk, changed out the water and stood the tree back up, hoping to save the tree, but we couldn't.

We're convinced that No-Burn killed our beautiful tree. We will never use that product again. We now have a new tree, but unfortunately the tree farm that we always go to is closed for the season so we had to buy a pre-cut tree.

The product also left a white residue all over the tree and anything else in the living room that the solution came in contact with.

1.0 out of 5 stars smells really bad!, December 12, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: No-Burn 1019 Christmas Tree Fire Gard (Tools & Home Improvement)
Used this on our fresh cut xmas tree. It smells so bad that I'm TROWING away our beautiful & expensive tree and going out to buy another tree. The wonderful noble fir tree smell has been lost forever and replaced with what my wife describes as cat urine. I'm in the dog house for using this product! Don't even consider buying this for an indoor tree.
