Book Description

March 1, 1995
Do you strain to say and do the right thing, and suffer when you fail?

Is it hard for you to ask for help...initiate sex...resist unwelcome advances?

Do you sometimes feel you almost don't exist?

Believe it or not, "NO" is a complete sentence -- and it's okay to say it whenever you need to, without fear or guilt. Yet many of us find it hard to say "no" because our personal boundaries have become' so eroded that we scarcely know where we stop and other people begin.

This sympathetic, sane book helps you to free your inner strength and reclaim the healthy center of your life. Drawing on her own experiences, and those of people struggling with this issue, the author explains what personal boundaries are, how they become damaged, and how we can heal them. She also includes a variety of helpful exercises you can do on your own.

Written in a direct and personal style, "No" Is A Complete Sentence will encourage anyone who wants to learn to interact with others in a more equal, productive way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Self-Help Book I Ever Read!, December 31, 2010
This review is from: No Is a Complete Sentence (Mass Market Paperback)
Often a self-help book will give most of its more pertinent advice at the very beginning, after which there follows relatively little meat. But this book was absolutely packed with great advice through its entirety! I read a borrowed copy and have decided to buy a personal copy for myself, as well as one for each of my children. The author is to be commended and I urge the publisher to go back into print. My therapist suggested this book and I think it should be required reading in colleges for psychology students and others.

There isn't enough space for me to give you a review first off.
This is one of the best self-help books read and completed.
The author certainly has a way of puting the "boundaries" of a person in plain words. She doesn't go into technological or deep medical terms. It is to bad this book is out of print because I recomend it for anyone who has problems saying "NO" for any reason what-so-ever.
There is insight and love and understanding in a way that "NO" is not black or white but a rainbow of soothing ways for saying "NO".. by the way "NO" is a complete sentence.
