3.0 out of 5 stars WHERE'S THE TYSON FOOTAGE?, July 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: No Compromise - The Evander Holyfield Story [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This would be a 4 or 5 star video if it had at least a few minutes of Holyfield's first fight against Tyson. That fight, in my opinion, was the best fight of Holyfield's career, and probably the most fun to watch. He beat Tyson with the odds heavily stacked against him and this video left out a key part of Holyfield's boxing life by not showing us any of the Tyson match. The video did have some good background on Hoyfield's life and some footage of his fights with Riddick Bowe and George Foreman, but overall it would've been much better with Tyson footage.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining. Needed more family history and Tyson footage., March 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: No Compromise - The Evander Holyfield Story [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This economic look at Holyfield's life lacked two ingredients 1) additional family history--little recounted of the father, no brothers or sisters were introduced 2) no footage of the first Tyson fight. We do however, get some insight into the man's character and warrior spirit. Though outwardly humble, a flicker of braggadocio is seen, much like the tip of an iceberg.

Maudlin, over-produced, complete with stirring mood music and lofty voice-overs. All of which would be tolerable if they at least gave us some fight footage, but there's no more than a few seconds from any fight. A waste.
