5.0 out of 5 stars He's Got No Control!, May 25, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: No Control (Audio CD)
When Eddie has time and is in the mood to write songs he is awesome at making it believable ! I think this was his best cd from the 1980's. Unlike "Can't Hold Back" from 1986 that featured more of his pop side "No Control" featured his rockin side! Every song rocked and had a true life story about him. "Shakin and Think I'm In Love" were the radio hits but other songs were just as good.. Take A Little Bit, Runnin Away and Hard Life also rocked and No Control was the story about the almost death of Eddie Money himself ! This was the true sound for which old Eddie Money fans will always remember him. He released many cds in the 80's but only 2 are left for purchase as "Where's The Party , Nothing To Lose and Playing For Keeps were left to run out of print.

I couldn't agree more with the reviews posted already. My only disappointment is that this 2008 re-release was not re-mastered as Money's music should be. I am amazed at the spatial subtleties and quality of this recording, actually all of his, when played at lower sound levels. Try it, see what you've missed, and crank them back up again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Eddie's ultimate release., December 31, 2010

This review is from: No Control (Audio CD)
1981 was a troubled year at first for Eddie, in late '81 Eddie O.D. after sniffing laundry deterergent he mistook for cocaine. Eddie recovered and tried putting his party life behind him. Mid '82 brought us his 4th album the CLASSIC "No Control" #20, this album rocked from the get go and the band was in fine form here after the lackluster "Playing For Keeps". The rockers included, "Shakin'", #63 hot 100, #9 mainstream rock, The title track which hit #60 mainstream rock, "Take A Little Bit", "Keep My Motor Running", the pulsive "Drivin' Me Crazy", and the real charmer was the big hit "Think I'm In Love", #16 hot 100 and #1 mainstream rock, still a classic 29 years on. The reflective tunes are "Hard Life", "My Friends, My Friends" and his tune he wrote for his good friend John Belushi ""Passing By The Graveyard". Jimmy Lyons plays great guitar on this album. This would be Eddie's best album (MHO) he has ever released. It only took less than a year, before he rushed released "Where's The Party?".

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Money Man, September 18, 2008

I have this album on LP (and just recently bought it on CD), and it's one of my favorite albums. No Control is probably Eddie's most consistent work. The album gets off to a great start with Shakin', a great guitar song with catchy lyrics and hooks ("Sh...sh..sh..sh we were Shakin'!"). Songs like No Control, Think I'm in Love, Hard Life, and Runnin' Away prove that The Money Man was on top of his game back then.

I don't know if it's different anywhere else, but the only place I've been able to find Eddie's studio albums is either eBay or Amazon. The only Money albums I've seen in stores is the dozens of Greatest Hits sets. With "Green Cases" (paper jewel cases instead of plastic) being the latest craze, hopefully Eddie will have all his albums digitally remastered and repackaged in the "Green Cases".

5.0 out of 5 stars Eddie Money's Best Album Ever, June 15, 2007
This review is from: No Control (Audio CD)
NO CONTROL is Eddie Money's best album ever, which is amazing, considering that it came right after the flop PLAYING FOR KEEPS. The songs here just plain ROCK!!!!! "Shakin'", "Think I'm In Love", and the title song show Money at the top of his game, making the Springsteen/Seger Heartland rock style, as well as the hard rock of Ted Nugent and Foghat, slightly more accessible to pop fans. This wonderful CD/cassette is one that no true 80s rock fan can do without.
