About the Author

Marian Babson was born in Salem, Massachusetts, but has lived in London for the greater part of her life. She has worked as a librarian, a receptionist, a secretary, and a den mother to a firm of commercial artists, and was co-editor of a knitting machine magazine despite the fact that she can’t knit, even with two needles. A long sojourn as a temp sent her into the heart of business life all over London, working for architects, law firms, the British Museum, a Soho club, and even a visiting superstar. She also served as secretary to the Crime Writers’ Association.

Marian Babson is now a full-time writer, and her many interests include theater, cinema, art, cooking, travel, and, of course, cats.

You will absolutely love it, meow.

This is an absolutely horrible book that was stupid to begin with and then just downright disgusting.
Linda Holland
And the entertainment by the main characters was oh, so good.

I can always count on Marian Babson, and this last installment in the adventures of Trixie and Evangeline was worth the wait. Like most of her stories and all in this series, it is laugh-out-loud funny. It picks up where the last left off, with Trixie's daughter, Martha, finishing her charity cookbook and Trixie and Evangeline desperately searching for a play and a theater in which to perform it. If you haven't read the other books in this series, the only problem you'll have is that you will then want to search for all of them. Most entertaining!

- I love kitty cats and when I saw this title and the adorable cover I knew it was a must read. In No Cooperation from the Cat you discover Martha who is frantically working to finish her cookbook. In this quest of testing recipes and finding the world full of goodness she discovers that her fortunes have come about due to a death. Was it a coincidence or murder? The ever tumbling plot moves quickly as Cho-Cho the lovely Japanese bobtail cat comes to save the day. Well, as any cat full of intuition and curiosity. You will absolutely love it, meow.

Aging London actresses Evangeline Sinclair and Trixie Dolan allow the latter's daughter friend Martha, with the help of author and editor Jocasta to finalize a cookbook in their home. They and their friend Dame Cecily think the invasion is intrusive. Banquo Fitzfothergill the Arctic explorer, accompanied by his sidekicks Tom and Mick, arrives at the house shouting for his wife Melisande. Jocasta panics as she fears how Banquo will react when he learns Melisande died while cooking as apparently no one has told him.

To their shock Evangeline and Trixie find a horde of uninvited guests as Banquo and his growing retinue to include his aunts demand to see Melisande, who was the original cookbook author. As Melisande's former assistant, Jocasta is the only suspect while Martha is upset to learn she was second fiddle.

The latest Sinclair-Dolan British cozy (see The Cat Who Wasn't a Dog) is a fun tale as the protagonists' home begins to look like Groucho's ship cabin in A Night at the Opera. The breezy storyline is amusing while readers and Cho-Cho-San and Frou-Frou watch the zanies spin out of control.

I've read a few of Marian Babson's other books, but I didn't think this one was quite as good as the others I've read. First of all, the title doesn't make much sense to me, although the picture is cute. In fact, the cat helps rescue them at the end!

The biggest problems I had with this novel were:

1. No explanation of who some of the characters were, you had to be familiar with her other books featuring Trixie and Evangeline to work out who Nigel, Jem and Teddy were.

2. I thought it was ridiculous that they just let these people take over their flat because the editor was working on 2 books at once.

3. It wasn't a very nice atmosphere for Cho Cho, and it would have seriously stressed out my cat, but Trixie doesn't seem too concerned about how all the comings and goings in the flat affect Cho Cho.

MARION BABSON IS PROBABLY MY FAVORITE MYSTERY WRITER...I HAVE READ ALL OF HER MYSTERIES, SOME GOING BACK TO THE EARLY 90'S...(WHOOPS, I'M AGING MYSELF HERE)....THEY ARE ALL VERY WELL WRITTEN...BUT IF I WAS TO SAY I HAD A FAVORITE SERIES, IT WOULD BE THE TRIXIE AND EVANGALINE SERIES....VERY ENTERTAINING...NOT ONLY DO YOU HAVE A MYSTERY TO HELP SOLVE, BUT YOU LAUGH ALL THROUGH IT TOO...AND OF COURSE THE CAT...THAT JUST ADDS TO THE CHARM...
LOVED LOVED LOVED IT...AND YOU WILL TOO...

I thoroughly e noted the mayhem throughout the story. And the entertainment by the main characters was oh, so good. But who killed the two bodies? Was their just one killer, or two? The cat was the heroine at the end. Good kitty, soft kitty, little ball of fur (taken from the big bang comedy).
