Mike Dawahare gives us a personal, riveting view of the "civil" war in Lebanon, from a reporter's close up view. Although only in country for six months, you get the feeling that his views and experiences would have accurately represented the whole fifteen years of that conflict. The sense that the futility would have been repeated over and over for the whole period is eminently obvious. There are no innocent parties to this conflict and Dawahare's reportage makes clear that the fog of war can blur the consciousness of any rational observer. A compelling read by any standard.
