4.0 out of 5 stars It is great!, February 11, 2008
This review is from: The No Crave Diet: Why Tackling Food Cravings is the Key to Losing Weight (Paperback)
I got the No Crave Diet Book this weekend. It was an easy read. I think the plan is solid. I have thought about doing this, but I never found a diet in writing. It is pure common sense. I love vegetables and I can deal with the protein. I do not feel restricted. I have tried everything. I always notice I could go all day without eating, but the moment I eat a carb or sugar, I crave more and more. This diet puts me in mind of Kimikins, but it is less strict. This plan would be so easy to follow if you eat out. The only problem I have is figuring out the math, but they basically tell you what to do. I think it is sound and safe. Try it if you are sensitive to carbs. I tried it today. I ate what they recommended, and I am still full. I ate lunch at 10:30 AM; it is already 2:18 pm. Wow!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is THE book for battling the bulge!!!, November 21, 2008
This review is from: The No Crave Diet: Why Tackling Food Cravings is the Key to Losing Weight (Paperback)
I am really excited about this book! I bumped into it on the shelf at Chapters Bookstore and could not resist purchasing it. As someone in the medical profession, it so nice to see a book that touches on how the hunger and satiety centers of our brains control our cravings. It outlines an alternative to the typical "grazing" idea of eating 5-6 times per day. It poses two phases...phase 1 is a strict plan for weightloss and phase 2 is the maintenance phase where foods elimated in phase1 are slowly reintroduced. It's written in a very straightforward, easy to understand and fun style. I think this is the ticket for ending my lifelong struggle with weightloss! I'll keep you posted!

I didn't buy this book because I need to lose weight.
Over a year ago I was 125 pounds which was too much for my small frame and height of 5"2".
I decided to give up junk food and eat 3 meals a day. It just seemed like common sense.
I now weigh 102 pounds which I am pleased with.
I read an online article a few months ago by the authors about the 5 or 6 meals a day myth and was interested in what else they had to say about eating just 3 meals a day.
This book told me everything I wanted to know.
I used to get terrible cravings but I no longer do. It really seems like a miracle.
This myth of 5 or 6 small meals will continue though. I see it online all the time.
