moe. - WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LA LAs - In The Studio

Biography

moe. | BIOGRAPHY
After two decades of writing, recording and touring together, veteran jam band moe. took stock of where they’d been, released a retrospective, then turned the page.
Two years later the Northeast-based five-some has opened a new chapter in the moe. story. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LA LAs is the band’s first completely new collection since 2008, and while creative evolution has always been… Read more in Amazon's moe. Store

5.0 out of 5 stars moe., The Greatest "unknown" Rock Group, July 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: No Doy (Audio CD)
I first heard of moe. not by advertisements or even by word of mouth. I first saw the name on a bumper sticker. I decided to check them out, i was not disappointed. No Doy in my opinion is one of the best rock albums to come out of this decade. With they're fierce, blues/funk influenced music, moe. adds lyrics that are as melodic as they are meaningful. Highlights include 32 Things, Spine of A Dog, and Buster. What is most unique about moe. is the beautiful melodies that the two guitarists create on top of funky bass lines. Advice to anyone, buy this CD and catch this band live if the opportunity presents itself. Cy Harrison

5.0 out of 5 stars A pleasure for the ears, January 6, 2004
This review is from: No Doy (Audio CD)
I have all of the studio albums that moe. has recorded, and this is undoubtedly my favorite. It seems closer to a live recording than a conceptualized studio effort, and therefore has a spontaneity you don't normally find on studio albums. Having never seen moe. live, so I am lacking that experience. But when compared to albums like wormwood or dither, this stands head and shoulders above them. The guitar work on Rububla is absolutely astounding, and moth opens with a funky little riff that you can definitely groove to. There are no real weak links in this album, no filler songs whatsoever. Check it out sometime.

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD belongs in every collection, June 20, 2003

First of, moe. is such an amazing band. All of their albums, including this one, only prove that. This is one of the few CDs that I love every single track on it. I have to listen to the entire CD all the way through everytime I put it in the CD player. This is definitley one of my favorite CDs. I would have to say that moe. is the best jam band in the studio. Their studio albums are probably some of the best of their genre. However, on the other hand, they are mind blowing live. They jam beautifully and create an energy and vibe unlike any other. I love every moe. CD, but this might have to be my favorite. Anyone who has not heard of moe., please buy this CD. It is truly a gem.
