5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful movie!, October 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
No Drums No Bugles is done in the avant garde style of the 60s, so don't be expecting a fast-paced Civil War movie. That said, Clyde Ware, who wrote, directed and produced this was one of the artistic giants of the 20th century. Filmed in Doddridge County, WV, Ware's boyhood home, the scenery / photography is breathtaking. Ware cast an unknown, Martin Sheen, as the lead (a conscientious objector. I found it thoroughly enjoyable.
