Good West Coast AOR Album,
By Mike S (Front Royal,Virginia United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: No Escape (Audio CD)
I'm glad to see this cd finally out in print. I remember this west coast AOR style album from 1979 which contained 3 hit singles;the biggest hit being "Elena" and two smaller hits "Never Again" and "She's So High". The lineup on this album was Marc Tanner on Lead vocals and guitar,Richie Zito on lead guitar,William Smith on Keyboards,Bob Glaub on bass, and Mike Baird on drums. David Paich of Toto plays piano on 3 tracks and Steve Lukather and Jeff Porcaro of Toto play guitar and drums on 2 tracks each.

A hidden GEM of CDs - Marc Tanner "No Escape",
By JerryWest_44 (Orange County, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: No Escape (Audio CD)
I rec'd this CD for Christmas and it was a welcome surprise as I've been waiting for this album to come out on CD for years. I saw Marc Tanner perform in the late 70's in Huntington Beach and the CD has brought back some fine memories. I wouldn't surprise me to see someone reinterpret "Elena" one day --
Rip this CD into your IPOD and put the volume on "blast-mode" it for "Elena", "Crawlin", "Never Again" etc.

A great mostly unknown album,

In the fashion of bands like Boz Scaggs, this album runs the gamut from soft rock to rockers to the etherial. With great musicians behind him (especially the very underrated Richie Zito) Marc Tanner has put out a classic album that hardly anybody has ever heard or even heard of. My favorites are the poppy "Lady In Blue" and the etherial "She's So High". If you're into AOR rock give this album a try. I'm pretty sure you'll find some or all of the songs to your liking.
