Book Description

True 2 Life Street June 2003
This is a story about three young men from the same ghetto, but they all have different goals and dreams. Through the game they slowly climb the ladder of success, but the closer they get to the top, the more obstacles they have to overcome. The life, fast cars, pretty women and expensive jewelry. Tax-free money is what they call it, although that is not true. There are taxes to be paid. Murder and life-long jail terms. Are these young men ready to pay up? Find out for yourself. Watch these young men change from boys to men right before your eyes. I'm sure you'll enjoy. The story is written with such great detail you will feel like you are actually at the scene of the crime.

About the Author

Born and raised in Newark, one of New Jersey's roughest cities, raised by a single mother who instilled in me the importance of education. Growing up in Newark our role models weren't Policemen, or firefighters; they were the Mercedes-Benz driving drug dealers. I wrote this story to show the new generation the reality of this lifestyle. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Straight Grit..., July 26, 2003
By
This review is from: No Exit (Paperback)
I really didn't know that New Jersey was this freaking hotttt!!! I guess I should open my mind more. This book was fast, and so realistic. 3 friends in search for that almighty dollar. I already told Al-Saadiq I hated the ending but this book is so true to life you can't deny.

Du Drop, E, and Tony childhood friends who find themselves caught up in fast cars, money, women, murder, drugs.

E a sheisty guy from the beginning played himself all the way through and he deserved his downfall he wasn't a real soldier

Du Drop in his weakness for money he sold himself to the devil and lost his religion, a near death experience revived him

Tony the young school boy who took on the notorious alter ego of Nephew DANG.... he had me weak! (Angie said he would!) This young boy comes from the bench and rolls harder than his friends could've ever imagined. His thirst to enter college earned him a hustler's degree.

READ THIS BOOK!!!!

The author is real good peoples also

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite, May 4, 2005
This review is from: No Exit (True 2 Life Street) (Paperback)
I read this book February 18, 2003. I didn't even realize I had not posted a review for my favorite.

Tony, good kid not into the streets trying to do what's right in life. Dealt a bad hand with a dad who could careless and a mom working so hard she can't relax.

E, typical everyday dude. Not looking for anything in life but a come up.

Du Drop, Muslim, knowing he should be following his faith and listening to his father, but he love's the life as well.

These three friends have no clue what they all have in common until they start hating on the one dude that they have been sleeping on! Not realizing who Nephew really is, once they find out they didn't know it was like that! Mr. Banks takes us on a hustle we all have heard of, but don't realize how real it is. This was the one story that I can say was truly True 2 Life.
